The BLM's interagency work in association with PARC has received national recognition. On March 8, PARC received the 2017 BLM/U.S. Forest Service Conservation Leadership Partner Award at the North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference held in Spokane, Washington. The award is presented annually to an organization that demonstrates outstanding leadership and sustained dedication to conservation on public lands. 

Founded in 1999, PARC addresses reptile and amphibian population declines through a coalition comprised of state and federal agencies, private sector organizations, and concerned citizens. The group works to conserve amphibians, reptiles, and their habitats as integral parts of our ecosystem and culture through proactive and coordinated public/private partnerships. The BLM helps lead PARC's Federal Agencies Steering Committee, which fosters reptile and amphibian conservation within participating agencies.

As the federal agency that manages the most habitat of reptiles and amphibians, the BLM is entrusted to protect these species across massive tracts of lands from the Mojave, Sonaran, Great Basin, Chihuahuan deserts and beyond. The BLM also manages some of the most diverse types of reptile and amphibian habitat in the United States.
