I feel like they've tried to "modernise" the designs to appeal to kids. But what they've done is made it look sorta generic, just like any other modern movie, taken from the characters. But they've also completely ruined the first 2 movies.

The first 2 movies are all about being ogres, embracing how they look, changing preconceived notions on how others view them, showing they might not be "beautiful" by society's standards, but they still deserve love and acceptance, they still took pride in who they are and how they look, and even when they have a chance to be different and look like everyone else, they fight to stay how they are because that's who they want to be. Can you see the issue with modernising and changing their looks to be more pleasing to kids, and to look like any other modern animated movie???????
