Alrick is transfem and Amelia is a lesbian (not clickbait)
"My Beloved,"
i love the scene where Amelia proposes to Alrick bc
1) its a nice gender reversal and totally fits her character for a very sweet moment
2) its also incredibly funny that Amelia walked in on her boyfriend goofing around in that black hoodie and visor and pretending to be a robot and was like “Oh I need to put a ring on that immediately”
and she was right
I love them. Episode nine of book one is a masterclass in immediately selling your audience on a romance, imo….

Yes, I’ve started another Three Houses longfic even when I have another in progress. And it’s a crossover with Infinity Train! I present to you Black Eagle Apex Force.
I am a bit curious about Amelia’s past... we see a bit of it, but only to do with Alrick. And it makes sense, establishing him as having been a friendly and supportive presence since their childhood shows why she would go to such lengths to get him back.
But I am curious about her parents, whom we never saw. And she was perfectly willing to stay on the train away from them, assuming they were alive. Were they estranged? I wonder if it’s possible they didn’t support her scientific interest as proper for a girl. It was implied she faced some of that in the school flashback when the teacher tells her not to play with her ‘toys’, even though that could have just been annoyance, It must have been hard for her trying to make it as a woman in STEM in the 70s/80s, whenever. It might also make for an interesting foil to Tulip, who’s parents did try to support her interests even if they had their own shortcomings. If she felt Alrick was the only who truly supported her in this area, it might just further explain why she would rather have the dream world.
