Hello, dear Gyz! Today is Saturday and I wanted to put something nice in your tag, so here is my recording of your poem futures.
As you know, I've been sitting on this since a couple of hours after you first posted this a few weeks ago. It's is a single take -- my first take -- actually my first time reading this poem all the way through, period, aloud or in my head. I made some additional recordings to try and clean it up, but I keep coming back to this version even though it's not perfect. It feels the most... urgent. So here we are. :D
Your writing is so fantastic and evocative and full of things, and it ought to be spoken and shouted and whispered and sung and read silently all over the place. Thank you for always being so encouraging of transformative works of your work.

the books i read as a child suggested that there was no roman latin word for werewolf (although there is a greek one!Â ÎťĎ ÎşÎŹÎ˝Î¸ĎĎĎÎżĎ)
but that when ~hysterical~ medievalists wrote about werewolves
they used the word lamia
which now has a specific connotation of a certain type of demon but was also a general purpose word that meant 'evil thing'-- it is, for example, also technically the latin word for 'vampire'
basically people didn't have enough words for ~scary things~ so they just used the same, general purpose word
about the best you could assume from the word lamia is that it would probably be something that would try to eat you
