OPENING NIGHT.     the  murmurs  echoing  through  the  theatre  fueled  the  brunette  ,   an  air  of  confidence  that  she  normally  let  simmer  in  front  of  others  was  out  full  force.   THIS  was  christine  in  her  element.   all  of  the  relentless  rehearsals  leading  up  to  this  moment  she  never  felt  as  alive  as  she  did  when  she  was  on  the  stage.   her  time  to  finally  be  the  center  of  attention.    but  this  time  ?   she  didn’t  even  care  about  the  attention  being  on  her.   (   okay  maybe  a  little  bit.   )  there  was  something  else  that  made  it  even  more  important  to  her.  MICHAEL MELL.   

if  anyone  would  have  told  her  months  ago  that  she  would  be  falling  in  love  with  not  one  ,  but  two  boys  at  the  same  time?     ...   SHE PROBABLY  WOULD’VE  BELIEVED  YOU.   her  heart  was  too  big  for  her  own  good   ,    truly  ,  it  would’ve  just  been  a  matter  of  time  before  the  young  thespian  had  found  herself  in  this  place.    HOWEVER   ,   if  you  had  told  her  that  she  would  be  able  to  have  them  both?       well  ,  let’s  just  say:  a  gentleman’s  guide  to  love  &  murder  was  not  the  ending  she  expected  for  herself.   certainly  not  during  christmas...  WELL.   we  don’t  harp  on  it  anymore.  

but  MICHAEL  MELL.    her  counterpart.    the  guy  to  her  girl    (  she  wasn’t  being  facetious  ,   those  are  LITERALLY  their  character  names.  )    she  didn’t  know  what  to  expect  from  him  when  the  cast  list  up.   DON’T  GET  HER  WRONG;    she  knew  he  would  be  phenomenal.    but  christine  had  no  idea  how  seriously  he  would  take  it.   turns  out?    middleborough  high  had  a  new  leading  man  on  their  hands.  and ...  possibly  a  new  one  in  her  heart.   CHEESY  ,    but  true.    her  feelings  for  michael  grew  every  passing  day  that  she  has  gotten  to  really  know  him.   jeremy  heere  was  right:   this  boy  was  fucking  AMAZING.   she  could  see  why  that  love  had  been  there  for  so  long.   and  why  it  had  been  bubbling  inside  her  every  time  he  sang  that  fucking  act  one  finale.  god...

The host hisses in pain, head shaking almost violently the instant an electric shock runs down his spine. Damaged circuits leave a humming in his ear, index finger shaking as the last of the current runs through his nervous system. There’s a retaliation on the tip of his tongue ( it knows, it knows everything he is thinking before he can even process it for himself ), but the SQUIP promptly stops him.

Michael’s cheshire-esque grin is infectious, and Jeremy finds a smile slipping onto his features in turn— softer, but just as bright. He rolls his eyes with the first comment, leaning into his side ( unaware that he’s even doing so ; falling into Michael is second nature ). The adult part hasn’t quite sunk in, and Jeremy’s sure later he’s going to panic about that fact, but for now he just wants to enjoy his birthday with his two favorite people. Smile grows a touch at the little trinket, turning his hips so he’s facing Michael a bit more directly, leaning forward to hover his lips.

He’s hovering the edge of the chair, Michael’s hand tight in his own as gaze flicks between his friend’s expression and the tattoo gun currently pressed against his upper arm. It had been Michael’s idea, and therefore Michael had to go first— for which Jeremy is both thankful and horrified by. Watching the process on someone just as clueless as he is gives a pretty good indication of what he’s in for. And while the idea of matching tattoos sounds awesome, he’s beginning to wonder if it’s worth this ; a sketchy parlor that didn’t require any parental permission, a half-baked idea ( originally a joke— really, what were they thinking? ) and a needle gun.

John Mulaney Sentence Starters

“I hate this. Michael,”

Name whined, brows furrowed and a clear frown in his expression. Pencil has been tossed across the table in frustration ; they’ve been at this for at least an hour and a half, and Jeremy’s patience is running out. Math has always come easier to his best friend, which led to separate math classes and the occasional tutoring session whenever a topic was particularly challenging ( which tended to be most of them, as the years of high school went on ). As much as Jeremy was thankful for the help, he also hated the sessions ( noticeably struggling did little for his confidence, only serving to make the redhead feel dumber than he did most of the time ).
