some thoughts re: real life stede bonnet using "captain edwards" as an alias - I am absolutely convinced stede is gonna do this in season 2. like logically....he can't exactly go around announcing he's stede bonnet anymore, can he? he's dead!! he has to keep a low profile, at least for long enough that people will stop believing theres a chance he's still alive. he's going to have to come up with an alias for the first few months of his new pirate career AT LEAST. and you simply cannot deny naming himself "edwards" (the invisible possessive apostrophe is DEAFENING) is just the perfect level of pathetically cheesy shit this newly awakened Romantic Hero Stede Bonnet would pull. I can just imagine his smug little grin now as he announces his new identity to the crew as every single one of them rolls their eyes and groans. he's so embarrassing <3 it's literally perfect
