Egon turned on the gas fireplace in the bungalow and threw on a black t-shirt and boxers. He helped himself to toast and coffee while Janine showered. She emerged a few minutes later wrapped in a plush white bathrobe.

“What do you want to do today?” he asked her.

“I planned to check out the tennis courts. But that was before I almost got lost in the haunted woods…and this whole thing happened between us,” she said. She scooped fruit and scrambled eggs onto her plate.

The romantic entanglement wasn’t part of Egon’s plan, either. Something about this resort made him finally reveal his feelings for Janine. He’d been smitten since they first met, though he’d always felt too shy to reciprocate her flirtation.
