Experience the perfect blend of smoky flavors and tender pulled pork with this Alton Brown-inspired recipe. The dry rub and homemade BBQ sauce elevate the taste to a new level of barbecue excellence.
Ingredients: 5-6 pounds pork shoulder, bone-in. 2 tablespoons kosher salt. 1 tablespoon smoked paprika. 1 tablespoon garlic powder. 1 tablespoon onion powder. 1 tablespoon ground black pepper. 1 tablespoon brown sugar. 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper. 1 cup apple cider vinegar. 1/2 cup yellow mustard. 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce. 1/4 cup soy sauce. 1/4 cup honey. 1/4 cup molasses. 1/4 cup dark brown sugar. 8 hamburger buns, for serving.
Instructions: Add salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper to a small bowl. Mix the spices together to make a dry rub. The dry rub should be used to cover the pork shoulder completely. Put it in the fridge for at least an hour or overnight to marinate. Get your smoker ready by heating it up to 107F 225C. Put the pork shoulder that has been marinated in the smoker. Cook for 8 to 10 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 200F 93C. Mix apple cider vinegar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, honey, molasses, and dark brown sugar in a saucepan while the pork is smoking. This is how the BBQ sauce is made. Let the sauce cook on medium heat until it gets thicker. Take the pork out of the smoker 30 minutes before slicing it. Shred the meat with two forks, and then throw away any bones or extra fat. Make sure the shredded pork is evenly covered with the prepared BBQ sauce. Put the pulled pork on hamburger buns and, if you want, top them with coleslaw. Enjoy your tasty Pulled Pork that was inspired by Alton Brown!
