Ooh well okay I guess I can spoil a teeeeeny bit of my story, maybe just to get to the part of it where the whole au started from. This is gonna be SUPER long so get comfy 😭

Elise is the 20 year old daughter of King Nicolas of the kingdom of Travicia (yeah I used a name generator online for that cos I had absolutely zero idea what to call it LMAO if I think of something better I might change the name). She's responsible, curious, thinks before she acts, but she doesn't try to take things too seriously. She didn't go to the same royal schools as the kids from the show do (because of the whole magic thing. Not only do they learn it there but also being around others that see magic as a good thing would "be a bad influence") instead she was taught by a private tutor all the things that were deemed "acceptable" by the king.

Her mother died shortly, and very suddenly, after giving birth to her youngest sibling, Julia. Elise ended up basically raising Julia on her own since their father is... uh.. not good. At all. Pretty much every citizen in the kingdom hates him and after the meeting with King Roland in Enchancia- where he basically tells her to fuck off when she tells him she wants to help with negotiations and to come up with ways to reduce the suffering of their people (food shortages and poverty and all that fun stuff that was caused because their king values technological advancement over the well-being of his subjects) and THEN, out of nowhere, tells her she's staying in Enchancia as an ambassador of sorts with no say on her part whatsoever, she hates him too. As well as other reasons.

And that's pretty much the most important lore so far and where I'm starting the story/au from. And in the show timeline it takes place between Cedric's failed takeover of the kingdom and the episode that Wormwood bails on him and goes looking for a new evil master.

Her relationship with Cedric, well, yeah it's actually one of my favourite things to think about when it comes to her life so far. She was brought up her whole life being told that magic is evil and dangerous or whatever, and hearing every case of someone being taken to the gallows for practicing sorcery. But it never sat right with her, if it was really so bad then how is it that every other kingdom in the world accepts it and are thriving? And theirs isn't?

So naturally, when given the chance to meet an actual royal sorcerer, and after swearing *everyone* present to secrecy, she went to introduce herself. And yeah she likes him, he's a bit of a goofball and she loves that about him, they get along and encourage each other. I imagine she also likes to tease him a lot, he seems like the type of person to get flustered quite easily and I imagine she'd find that pretty cute hehe. Obviously their friendship is kept as a MASSIVE secret from her father and maybe for a while even her siblings and when he does find out... Well that's a huge spoiler I'm gonna keep secret :3

She also finds out about him trying to take over the kingdom and failing and all that, I'm not letting him keep secrets from her lol. Cedric also ends up teaching her how to use magic herself at one point, because she'll desperately need it eventually....
