Here at FOBD we are comprised of four main groups:

Dropship Alpha Station Mecha Station Grounders

We have a bit of an odd way of establishing which characters belong in which groups, in that the player doesn’t decide, but the admins do. When each character application has been submitted we will go over it carefully and, if accepted by at least two staff members, will sort it according to a variety of things: 

How many characters there are in each group. We want to keep mostly even ratios, if anyway possible, so everyone has someone to interact with.

If there are already a few people from the fandom in one group it’s unlikely that a new character in that fandom will be placed in the same group. We want variety!

However! We will take into consideration any wanted ads one might have. If you place an ad for a character interaction you wish to have, then, if the ad is filled, they will automatically be assigned to the group the character who placed the ad is in.
