We said goodbye to Mr Love (Pepe) almost 2 weeks ago. When I first met Pepe, in 2012, I was afraid of him. Terrified actually. As a kid, in my early teens I was chased by 2 dogs. @michelle.tomkinson was with me, she'll say they were so tiny, all she could do was sit in the road and laugh. But to me, this was a traumatic experience and one that made me afraid of other people's dogs to this day. So when Pepe came into my life I went SLOWLY and introduced him to Rafa with the help of someone I could pay to do it cause my energy was off! Fast forward 8 years and this guy became my love. He adored me and I adored him. He made friends with every visitor we had and crept into their hearts and onto their laps every opportunity he could nudge his way into. Everyone kept referring to him as a human not a dog. As a friend put it aptly, when we share our lives with dogs, every 10, 11, 12 (or more if your lucky) years, we say goodbye and our hearts break open a little, but, the joy, the love, the laughter makes it all worth it. At least that's what I'm telling myself every single day right now. There's one more angle in heaven, There's one more star in the sky, There's one more tear in my eye, (Andrew Loyd Webber via @tflquotes_pat ๐) Go well Pepe, say hi to Nina.
