this graphic design shit easy
Spooky deep sea fish inspired mermaids are cool so I want to humbly suggest a freshwater fish that could also inspire a spooky mermaid
Atractosteus spatula aka alligator gar the largest member of the gar family
Why would they be a spooky mermaid inspo and why are they called "alligator" gar?
Their mouths :D
And I think in poor visibility they could look a somewhat alligator-like
because the countershading is similar and the big ones(max length is about 10ft/3m) are close to gator size
For more spooky factor they're generally found in calmer waters swamps, bayous, lakes and sluggish pools and backwaters of large rivers where the unwary might be lulled to false sense of safety
Also the pale to pinkish edging of their mouths and fins reminds me of lightly blood tinged water
Lastly their eyes look goofy but creepy at same time
Garzilla woo Garzilla
My grandma pronounces Godzilla like "Garzilla" and I can't tell if it's because of her accent or because she's Christian and doesn't want to say "God".
This is all I think of when I hear it.
I drew this a while ago and I keep getting Godzilla stuff on my feed now so it reminded me.
