*sigh* it's really frustrating, tbh. Â I get not wanting to associate with people who fawn about "omg biracial babiesss", write descriptions of Abbie involving the word "chocolate", or expect Abbie to be some sort of patient feminist educator for this white guy from the 18th century. But when so many people are calling out that gross behavior AND writing their own excellent, thought-out meta...why wouldn't you reblog that to the respected fandom blog with the big audience??
 Also, they're acting like the discussions about race are 100% about Ichabbie which...??? It's not like any of us have been making posts about the antiziganism in the second episode of this 'progressive' show, or the gross usage of the Magical Native trope, or Crane's eternal love for his slaveowning buddies, or the showrunners' willingness to believe that Crane saying "I supported abolition" and looking disturbed after learning about Sally Hemings gives him an automatic Not Racist pass so they can ignore the show's racialized gender politics; it's not like any of us have been vocally concerned that a show that prided itself on its diversity in s1 suddenly feels the need to bring in a mayo tidal wave once it feels 'established'; it's not like any of us have consistently called out the show's portrayal of Crane, a British man who crossed the sea to facilitate an imperialist project, as not only a Friend of the Natives but as proficient in their languages and skills as well! Â
(Granted, most of my own posts on the subject are ranty and full of cursing and all-caps because I can really only be motivated to write them when I'm angry, but plenty of other people have written about these things, which are decidedly not Ichabbie related, in far more calm and respectful tones than I have...yet you wouldn't know it from looking at the biggest fan blog.)

My google search shows a white woman (you can find her mug shot on-line.) In a lot of rural areas, especially in the South, the war on drug and the methamphetamine and narcotic drug addiction epidemic impacts poor white people quite a bit (perhaps simply because that is where the largest percentage of poor whites ARE as opposed to the cities.)

i'm thinking they're just "purposely misspeaking" or playing coy or whatever but it's annoying and comes off as tone deaf. it's not at all amusing, especially since ppl are already threatening to stop watching if abbie/jenny get sidelined.
I just can't believe that they have so little knowledge of their audience. Stuff like this has never been amusing to a good portion of the fandom, but they still insist on doing it. It's not as if they don't know our position on certain aspects of the show. We are as vocal as we could possible be, especially in the shady hollow tag. & they have to see what we've been saying, I mean if Orlando sees our posts than everybody else has to see them too (as scary as that is). So why do they keep doing stuff like this?
I could get behind it if they weren't always teasing these changes to key elements of the show. Stuff like the number of witnesses and who is helping them doesn't really need to be changed, in my opinion. Just keep  Abbie & Ichabod as the two witnesses, and keep Jenny & Irving as the other two members of the team. Obviously people will have to come in to help with things that no one else has any knowledge of, but have them only stay for a couple episodes. The core group and the original setup of the show is what people love, anything that varies outrageously from that is unnecessary to me.Â

Maybe we should, because whatever direction they are trying to take the show in is absolute bullshit. Like, why do they think another witness is necessary in the first place? I just don't understand what they are trying to do.
