In short while the mockery of USAmerica by Europeans is frequently a product of racism and the mockery of the USAmerican South by Northerners is a product of racism to claim that antiAmericanism itself is racist implies that USAmerica is the only country in the world to have people of color and that USAmerica never hurts people of color outside of USAmerica which . #logxx#Also whether everyone in America benefits from American imperialism is a nuanced discussion#But no matter where you are in the American social echelon the resources to go up EXIST#And while there are a NUMBER of factors that may make these resources inaccessible to an individual#Individuals do nonetheless benefit from the structures in place which protect American society#Even if that benefit nonetheless leaves someone miserable#Regardless of your socioeconomic status in America food/water quality laws mass vaccination/medicine public transport etc#All exist#Even if an individual is suffering under the weight of their government#The benefits of US imperialism affect the entire US#Which is why no one in the US is dying of polio or coming up with guinea worms.#Poverty is terrible no matter where you are#But to say poverty in America is the same or worse than poverty in the global south#Is just... stupid#And turns a blind eye to the way that America has fucked over the fundamental infrastructure of the global south
