When somebody backhands you and accuses you the entire time they’re “apologizing” to you and then blocks you before you can respond and point out that little tidbit and explain that that is the reason for your curtness. 👌
For somebody who claims to be so understanding, you sure are underhanded. I hope you’re refreshing my page to see if I post about it and read this. I will not be spoken down to when I’ve done nothing wrong. I had written out a politer response before discovering you’d blocked me, but being unable to answer accusations leaves one already down feeling kicked.
Having said that, I’m done trying to explain myself and to you why your actions were hurtful, because you obviously don’t get it and aren’t willing to listen. Next time, don’t play the victim when you’re the one careless enough to hurt someone else. Now, I’m done.

she's so defensive i'm so sorry
djdkhg she’s totally fine and tbh haruka can be so expressionless and polite like he can tolerate having people screaming in his face without blinking
basically he’s more than willing to let norma take out some of her frustration in his general direction since she seems to need it lmao
@alittleimpulsive So they've succeeded at day one. They've really succeeded, actually. It's spring break, edging into summer soon enough, and while it's not packed with frat boys or college brats they find the demographic is surprising-- a smattering of families from nearby states and areas looking to take a brief vacation and a resting spot for a few days, easy to access other places around them. Parents and young children, clinging to hands, the occasional teenager reluctantly rolling their eyes. It's been a lot of Norma's help (those marketing classes she's been taking, those ideas in her head, the fantastic way she can get when she loves something, when she's allowed to thrive in it, God, Alana's never looked at anything how she looks at her) and ideas, converting each room best as possible to a more homey, open place, giving it all life, themed and surprisingly luxurious. Alana's carpentry talents help. She's an incredible decorator, and there are small touches. Now they're both in the back of the main office and Alana's tallying books, going through things with fingertips tapping as she scribbles. Norma's done the math and asked her to check it again, and through a warm smile Alana says, "No. It seems you were accurate. We did incredibly well today." Like. Incredibly. But it helps that they've-- repainted, remodeled, and redone everything. Front sign included. It's warm and soft and inviting and it feels like a place distinctly owned by-- Norma, honestly. "You're a brilliant businesswoman, Norma Bates. The numbers say so."

So far I’ve had this blog almost a year I think and @alittleimpulsive‘s Norma is the first person who has managed to interrupt Alana in the middle of her doing something and successfully get her to just drop it and that makes me emotional.
@alittleimpulsive
It’s a lovely day out, with a clear blue sky and a bright sun and a cool breeze. Winter’s bleeding into spring and Norma’s dressing for it, the hem of her skirt swaying about her knees in the gentle wind. With a smile, Norma rests her fingertips against Alana’s jaw and tilts her face up, to the right. A soft kiss lands itself on Alana’s mouth.
“Do you want to go to lunch?” She’s beaming and radiant with happiness, and doesn’t stop touching Alana’s wrists and hands. “It’s so nice out, it’d be a shame not to take advantage of it.”
She has to literally suppress the absurd smile on her mouth. It’s too much-- she’s not expecting it, honestly, in a Rage Against the Machine t-shirt and a pair of jeans much too good for her to be sawing wood into rectangles. She’s obedient, though, good puppy, standing on tip-toe to match height she doesn’t have.
She tosses the hammer aside, lands uselessly beside a can of nails, rings in a sharp vibration. There goes that. “I suddenly care about nothing I was doing at all.”
@alittleimpulsive
“Well, I mean, as long as you don’t do it in excess, then who gives a crap, right?”
It’s stupid to her that men can be as cocky as they want without many repercussions, that they can sleep around as much as they please, and they’re seen as intelligent, a leader, a stud. People like Norma or Alana do that and they’re labeled as bitches or whores. It’s ridiculous.
“I like that you’re confident, anyway,” Norma says, pushing two thick slices of french toast onto Alana’s plate. “It’s sexy.”
She says it so casually for someone in her bathrobe, with no makeup on to cover up the pillow creases on her face, her hair a curly blonde mess. She’s waving the spatula as she speaks, little twirling motions.
“He can go shove it, honestly. Screw him. You didn’t ask for his opinion and he wasn’t welcome to give it.”
it’s sexy. That’s embarrassing-- the little way that her face flushes for a second, and how she ducks with a pitiful nibble at her lip to hide the gesture. No, that’s so embarrassing. She is sure she is not blushing, it’s too fucking humiliating for her to think about. She clears her throat to speak.
“Most men’s limitless talents are giving opinions where no indication of desire was-- given,” She has to slow down the speech a little. She’s a little off-guard. (Maybe it’s Norma’s charming golden hair or her anti-freeze blue eyes like the impossible color that pause her, or maybe she just can’t ever get the words out right at breakfast because she loves and admires this person too much.)
“I swear, I hate conventions. I’m just glad to be back. I understand their importance to my career, but--” a soft sigh, “--next time I’m taking all of you with me. At least then it’d be bearable.”
Hotel rooms are impersonal and chilly, sans Norma Bates.
“You could charm colleagues over dinner. Save me the trouble of talking.”
