Vanessa, Phoebe, and Callie are three high school girls in Orlando for three different conventions being held in the same convention center. Vanessa is a fanfiction writer attending a fandom convention, Phoebe is a drummer there for a percussion contest and convention, and Callie is an assistant to her taxidermist father there for a taxidermy convention. They don’t know each other, but when a bag filled with Callie’s taxidermy tools gets mixed up with Phoebe’s drum stick kit, these three girls meet, become close friends, and they help each other through personal crises. 

The Pros of Cons gets off to a sluggish start, but once the three girls finally meet, it definitely picks up speed. The backdrop of these disparate conventions makes for some fun and quirky stories. A meet-cute story is par for the course when it comes to romance books, but rarely do you see it used for friendships, and with this book, the meet-cute trope is used to great effect.

It’s about three girls at three different cons in the same convention center, each of whom was written by a different author. My character is Vanessa, an introverted fanfic writer who goes to the We Treasure Fandom Convention (or WTFcon) to meet her fanfic co-author and online girlfriend for the first time in person.
