Febuwhump Day 21: Put On Display
Countless unwelcome eyes on him, oohing, ahhing, ogling. Leonardo the Little Green Earthling was a brand new exhibit without a case, rope barrier or “Keep Off” sign.
Some extraterrestrial visitors leaned disconcertingly into his face, their exhales of the semi-toxic atmosphere stinging. Others prodded roughly at his polished plastron, trying to provoke a reaction. As much as he burned to lash out, alien paralytics kept him pliantly propped in the wall mounts. He could only stare stonily back until they withdrew, giving him a chance to scan the crowd yet again for any sign of his family, of rescue, freedom.
