I lied! Got curious and did a a video quality comparison after all. Left is dvd, right is bluray.
Even with my terrible eye for quality, I can tell that the remaster looks far, far cleaner and crisper. Everyone also looks less squished, which is interesting because the squished faces more resemble the manga's later art style.
The bluray uses the original subtitles, no changes to the translation.
Over all, I do think it's worth upgrading if you're a fan and especially if you're due for a rewatch like I was.
