it's like drowning, isn't it? it's cold at first, then warm--then nothing. that means you've become numb. you don't feel anything anymore and at first, it's great. you're not shivering, you're not shuddering, you're not anything, really. you don't feel anything at all. but not feeling anything is the problem. you know why you feel cold? the body uses that to protect you. it's a defense mechanism. because your body wants to live; it's designed to keep you alive. you aren't meant to be nothing. you aren't meant to feel nothing. you're meant to feel everything; that's what makes you human. the body wants to fight. it wants to fight and it wants you to want to fight. but it's exhausting, right? your muscles ache. your lungs ache. your heart aches. your mind aches. everything aches and you want to stop. and then you do. it's when you do that you sink. you stop feeling. you stop trying. you stop everything. you start sinking into oblivion and then not only do you feel nothing, you are nothing. it's like drowning, isn't it?
