Meet Raksha, Spandana and Suprita, 4th graders from SVS Vidyajyoti. I had the honour of visiting their school as a part of @theakshayapatrafoundation to serve them mid-day meals. Majority of children do not go to school because of hunger. What The Akshaya Patra Foundation of ISKCON is doing is that it provides free mid-day meals to 1.5 million children each day so that no child can miss the opportunity of education solely because of hunger. Words cannot express the gratitude I felt for what I have in my life when I see the struggle theirs is. They were so genuinely curious to learn and come to school that they finished their lunch quickly and returned back to their classes. In the interaction session that followed, we gave them a few essay topics to write on, in English. The interest they showed in learning the language amazed me and made me more determined to make that happen. I shall always remember August 4th, 2017 as the day I start giving back to the society. I am grateful for the life that He has given me and will promise myself that I will remember the duties in this world and put those into action.
