Although you advise him not to leave Stoneridge, your charge insists on visiting the village that’s backing up their sister. He argues there’s enough of you to stay here to form two teams: one to escort him and the other to keep the peace while he’s away. It takes a while, but, eventually, he gets his way.

After all the trouble you’ve already faced, what’s a little more?

Shieldgate appears to match its name. The village - or would tribe be more accurate? - is incredibly reclusive. They don’t appear to take to your appearance well, perhaps tolerate it at most. They seem to regard your charge with the most suspicion, but they respect him well enough to pave the way for his meeting with the tribal leader.

Not all of you are able to stay within the tent for negotiations, but the tribal leader claims to have opened up their home to you.

It’d be wise to gather more information about what's going on around here, wouldn’t it?

From the surface, the rumble and tumble harshness of Stoneridge seems quite normal. One quick trip to the Inn your former charge tells you to stay at tells you differently. There’s a subtle divide between the north end ( the Old District ) and the south end ( Meat Court ) that stems from the beginning of the city’s creation.

The Wanderer’s Inn may be located in the Neutral district, but there’s still mumbles under the breaths of those around you, an unrest and distrust with the opposing district.

You could let it be, as Inn’s owner advises you to do, but since when did you ever sit still?

Things don’t piece together until you discover the previous mayor of the city had been murdered, explaining the unrest and “changes” that linger on wagging tongues. Your former charge looks to you almost expectantly.

Perhaps, your escort mission hasn’t ended just yet.

After a harsh journey through the sandsea, you’ve made your way to Stoneridge. Like many other villages in the area, it’s fairly backwards compared to what you’re accustomed to. People here come from all sorts of backgrounds, and it’s evident by the way they hold themselves. They view you with open suspicion, but appear to welcome you to their home.

Your purpose here is to escort a high valued target in exchange for additional funds. It’s not the most ideal, but the target had offered something even Dr. Kal’tsit couldn’t refuse.

Enjoy a break or spend your time appropriately resupplying before traveling back home.
