*Minor Spoilers* Oh my poor Crowley. In this human AU, our massage therapist Crowley, falls asleep one night and wakes to find his flat on fire. When all hope seems lost, he is saved by an Angel. Or rather, retained firefighter and antique book dealer Aziraphale. With no one else to turn to for help, Aziraphale brings Crowley home to his cottage while he recovers and slowly pieces his life back together. And you can guess what happens next. I really adored this story. The way they interact, slow and yet so fast, is exactly why we keep coming back to these stories. But it also had a very engaging plot in the way Crowley tries to piece his life back together after the fire. The moments where his walls collapse and he fully feels the trauma of what happened were heartbreaking and so real. Thank someone that Aziraphale is there to take care of him and steady him. And I love that this story doesn't give them their happily ever after immediately, there's a lot of baggage to sort out. But slowly, they will get there. They'll always get there in the end.
I loved this story, it felt so safe and comforting. Safe in public until towards the end, nothing very graphic though so you'll be fine either way. Beware of the overwhelming yearning to magically find yourself a partner that's a massage therapist that will hit during this one!
