my favourite thing about Aki and Thancred and Urianger is how none of them can be normal about one another
they all built up all these feelings and didn't talk about it for so long that by the time they finally get together, they're way too intense about it
Aki and Thancred are particularly clingy and weird about each other, both overprotective—every time they see each other they're scanning the other one for injuries
"are you okay?" is a constant refrain in their relationship
Urianger is pretty good at getting Aki and Thancred to talk to each other about their feelings, but he is not one to follow his own advice
it probably takes months after they all get together for them to get to a point of being able to go on a casual date
in the meantime they will be:
constantly staring intensely into each other's eyes from across the room
sleeping all entangled together in the same bed so that when one of them wakes from a nightmare, they can immediately be sure the others are okay
physically checking each other over every time one of them comes back from a trip, even if it was just a trip to the market
