So my first playthrough became befuddling due to two things. A friend pushed me to flirt with Paladin Danse during his first flirt opportunity with my expectation to fail only for it to succeed. This then led me to say fuck it lets see if I can get romance then. It changed my choice of who helps me get to the Institute due to doing a bit of research to get Danse to trigger his personal quest. Was this pursuit worth it? I say yes. I felt a sting of the feels during that personal quest due to my opinion on the great synth question of free will. Probably influenced due that I adore Nick and went through a chunk of Railroad quest line. In short the summary of that personal quest was "oh fuck you Elder Danse: yeah wtf Arthur". I made very sure to put on my persuasion outfit to get things right - ugh my main grief with dialog change is make it cha alone for persuade options. Though I do have say when I did pop romance question to Danse it is kinda fucking adorable to hear my character fumble through his line. From a roleplay angle it was a combination of asking the superior officer to hook up and my character coming to terms that yes he fell hard for another man. Originally I was thinking of Piper, but if I read my things right I can still hook up with her so I guess maybe idk how it works to have multiple partners but yeah. The second thing is my first encounter with the Institute. Oh lord this was something cause I has been spoiled a bit before getting here but it did not change my surprise at it still. The conversation you have that reveals what had happened still managed to bean me with a brick. In a strange way I felt closure at the end of that first conversation due to how the question regarding Kellogg was answered. It was indeed refreshing to find that not all the staff there were cold and bitter, it was only like a handful from what I had seen so far that are cold and bitter. So it left me wanting to see a few quests in just hear them out. I had been planning to just stick with Minutemen and figure out how I co-op Railroad since they lean where I feel about the main issue of the game known as who the fuck runs this part of post nuclear bombed US. It did not help that early on I was given an earful that turned me off from wanting side with BoS. Roleplay my character agreed with them on super mutants but not with the other two hated things. But man the Institute kills my frame rate due to the lighting I did not think it was possible compared to Diamond city but not it was worse than being at Diamond city. It was very noticeable when I went to little offshoot dungeon area to pick up a few quest items. That small barely lit grimey old lab had some of the best frame rate in the entire game so far for the desktop I have to use to play cause my laptop can't even run the game. Hahahaha but I didn't want to be on console due to rather be open to mods when those are made more viable aka not feel dodgy due to lack of data option on menu before you start game.
