I’m guessing it was around 2004 or 2005 when wearing long skirts and top with a stole came in fad. A number of bollywood actresses rocked this look and most notably I remember Kareena in Aitraz (2004)and Kajol in Fanaa (2007). This look soon became a staple among college girls in the mid 2000s to late 2000s( Stalk you sisters or cousins old pictures of Facebook and you will know what I am talking about.
Cut to the year 2010, Piya’s (Sukirti Kandpal) look in Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahani for half the show was just tops (full sleeves and tanks) with simple skirts and was actually popular.
Eventually around 2013-2014 long skirts were no longer cool!
