Conjugation #10: Volitional Form
The volitional form by itself is the equivalent of "let's..." in English, as in "Let's go," or "Let's eat." The volitional form is also used when expressing thoughts, such as "I'm thinking of doing (action)."
Formal Volitional
For all verbs ending in -masu, change masu to mashō.
Informal Volitional
Class 1 verbs: change -u to -ō
Class 2 verbs: change -ru to -yō
Class 3 verbs: These verbs are irregular, so their volitional forms must be memorized.
