#aiku light

Everything seemed to happen at once. It was a normal day, Aiku following his parents, his sister holding onto his hand, and then the world lit up with a blast that he knew would be burned into his memory.

Alarms in the buildings around them started to cry, and he felt panic take over. Another explosion, and both him and Tasuna fell to the ground. He didn’t know where their parents were, too lost in the agony of fear thumping in his chest to register anything but trying to run. Get to a safe place and hide as well as he could, away from the fire that was licking up the buildings around them.

He didn’t even remember letting go of her hand, he wasn’t sure if it had been in the fall or sometime after that - he just knew that when he could think coherently again, Tasuna was gone.

Aiku nearly screamed himself hoarse looking for her, getting ready to run back into the fire-covered street when his father found him, dragging him along. He didn’t answer any questions, didn’t say anything about Tasuna or Aiku’s mother until they got to the house and he saw his mother packing their grab bags into the van.

“Dad, she’s still out there, Tasuna-”

His father only yanked at his arm, pulling him closer and opening the back door of the car. “We have to go, Aiku, get in.”

“No! She-she’s still-”

“Get in, your sister is gone and we might be too if we don’t get out of here,” the man answered, voice gruff, almost uncaring. It made his eyes fill with tears, but… he didn’t have any choice. If they were willing to leave their daughter behind, they clearly wouldn’t hesitate to do the same to him.

Among the tears that the family shed in the aftermath, they learned that it had been a domestic terrorist attack. The men behind the blasts had been caught, but it had cost thousands in property damage. Their family was listed as ‘missing’.

The only one truly missing was Tasuna, Aiku’s sister, the warm spot missing at his side.

He’d find her, someday. Whatever happened to her, he’d at least find her grave, the moment he could get back.

For those that don’t know, Aiku’s sister Tasuna is the name that Akaira went by before she went missing and lost her memory! :D With no one looking for her and no memory to go by, she was in the hospital for a few days before being adopted by the man that found her wandering around - and thus added into Aldafa’s family. @thefirehazardd ur welcome

“August.”

No answer, the redhead’s eyes drowsy and struggling to fall shut without his noticing.

“August.”

A mumble, his tongue stuck out at Aiku a little.

Aiku pulled in a deep breath, not willing to be stuck like this, stretched out over the couch all night for the sake of his boyfriend’s habit of falling asleep the moment it hit 9 o’clock.

So his hands settled at August’s waist, giving him a couple of prods in warning, before he gripped harder. At first all he managed to get were a couple of tired huffs, barely enough to be called laughs, before his fingers dug in a bit more and a giggle escaped him.

“Noooo, let me sleeeeep,” he whined, wriggling on top of Aiku.

Aiku didn’t let up his attack, focused on his task. “Then you sleep in bed, not on the couch.”

August whined, burying his face against Aiku’s chest as he attempted to curl up. “But I’m tired, I don’t wanna-” he broke into laughter, the tickling forcefully pulling him out of his apparently overwhelming exhaustion.

“Up! I’m not carrying you to bed, you gremlin!”

“Nooooooo-” August was finally succumbing to his attacks, trying to push Aiku away, rolling to the other side of the couch. “Angeeelllll, you-you’re mean-”

But Aiku only continued on, poking and squeezing every ticklish spot he knew that August had until the redhead was wheezing, shouting for mercy as he eventually fell completely off the couch. Then Aiku stood over him with a slight grin, staring down at his boyfriend.

“Now get up and get to bed, you stubborn four year old. You have rehearsal tomorrow.”

August stuck his tongue out at him, but held his arms up enough that Aiku could haul him to his feet, and off to their actual bed.

Aiku got his arm around Echo’s shoulders before she wandered off into the crowd, his other hand currently occupied by Tinya’s - they’d insisted on trying to keep together this year at their city’s sort of anniversary festival, and he couldn’t exactly argue with that. Somehow, wandering around on his own trying to find his scattered friends was never quite as fun as it was when they were all together.

… he really was starting to think that they all were leaving him alone on purpose, at times.

“Ku, we have to go get some cotton candy at some point before we leave,” Echo said, her puppy-dog please-can-we gaze at full power when she glanced up at him excitedly. “They have some green colored cotton candy, I need to see if it tastes any different!”

He shrugged, pulling her a little closer. “Yeah, just stay close, okay?

Echo only hummed distractedly - she probably didn’t hear anything. Oh well, he’d just have to keep a closer eye on her than Tinya. At least they knew not to let go. Probably.

Sometimes Tinya was a loose canon with these types of things.

“Hey baby blue, let’s get in line for that ride,” Tinya said with a grin, tugging on his hand in the direction of a surprisingly intense looking ride. Lots of upside down time, it was sure to be a bit of an adrenaline rush.

But Echo seemed to have other plans, as she pulled Aiku in the opposite direction with a squeak. “No way! If we’re gonna do that, we have to start with the smaller rides first and work up to it, you can’t just do it right off the bat!”

“You can’t tell me what to do, and besides, half the rides here look boring.”

Aiku, caught in the middle of the argument, gave a deep sigh and plastered a smile on his face. Yeah, he had to love the chaos of his friend group.

Is it bad to say that I kinda forgot to do this until 2am? Well, I had a busy day today so I have an excuse, so whatever. I really wanna get more out for Aiku and his friend group, cause they’re all chaotic, and I love them.

3. How do they dress?

Aldafa: Almost exclusively in hiking boots, work jeans, plain long sleeves/t-shirts, and pullover hoodies if the weather is colder. She might have a single down-filled coat to keep her warm during the winter, but her clothes are practical above all else.

Veriken: Arguably the one with the most range of casual for formal clothing, he'll go anywhere from full suits to joggers and a hoodie depending on what his plan for the day is, he doesn't really have a preference for either side of the spectrum but he does tend to wear more formal clothing more often.

Aiku: This boy has like three main looks that he wears - the "sketchy guy on the corner" that's just jeans, running shoes, and a dark hoodie to cover his face, his casual look of some graphic t-shirt, jeans, and some dark colored hoodie to cover his face, or his "don't touch me I'm sleeping" look which is whatever blanket is closest curled around him and his face buried in the pillow. He is not a morning person.

Sephtis: Honestly probably an unexpected favorite, but. Button down shirts and leather jackets. Pair that with some tough combat boots and some (usually black/dark) jeans and bam. Good lookin emo boy, I love him.

Lars: What can I say but uhhhHHH sweatpants and oversized hoodies. That's basically the only thing he owns. Comfort clothes only.

46. When is their birthday?

Aldafa: September 4th (my Virgo gal 💕)

Veriken: December 6th

Aiku: May 30th

Sephtis: April 1st (yes he's an April Fool's bab, he's very sensitive about it)

Lars: June 3rd

92. If they were given minutes to live, what would they do? Who would they want to see and say?

Aldafa: Ohhhh boy. Honestly, she'd want to see her sister, and apologize for how wrong their relationship went. She never meant for things to get so bad and for them to be forced away from each other, but it's hard when her mind has always been wrapped up in itself.

Veriken: With just his base self, without... *ahem* recent character building... Honestly he'd just want to be on his own, alone, enjoying one last delicious meal before he goes to meet his maker (and maybe punch them in the face, who knows). He'd rather not deal with his father or brother and have his last minutes of peace disturbed.

Aiku: First up, he'd love to have his parents around and give them a giant "fuck you" for all they left him to do on his own, and then... Outside of that, he'd rather be with Akaira, chill with his sister in the time he has left.

Sephtis: Gather the friend group, it's time to go out with a bang with the people closest to him. It might only be a few people, but he'd rather have a drink or two and be able to say goodbye than risking him slipping away without notice.
