Do people really think that the documents they have composed and saved on Google Docs count as publically available data? ('"We may collect information that’s publicly available online or from other public sources..." — say, if your name appears in a blog post or other media, it could be indexed and used.' So, basically, if you can google your own work, THEN that work is liable to be scraped.)
If you don't upload it to the internet, (discluding your personal cloud data storage, as that is still private data and not publically available, just like your photos and email), then it's not gonna get botscraped. Stop freaking out about Google Docs. You can still write on there. Focus on the sites you're posting stuff on.
"art created by humans is infinitely more valuable than art made by a machine" bud who do you think makes LLMs & writes prompts? aliens?
Listen. I want you to listen: GenAI can do a ton of good things. Especially, in medical field. GenAI can create synthetic MRIs for brain tumors, simulating what a patient will go through physiologically, biologically, even at metabolism level. A lot of papers are already out that use simulated MRI and CT images to develop deep learning models that can predict tumor growth as close to reality as possible. It's tough to get enough medical data. It's already less, and good quality ones are even rarer. So "synthetic data" can help train models that simulate how different radiation and chemo doses can affect the patient. It can even be patient-personalized, if we have enough parameters. GenAI can do a lot of good. We are nowhere near this being translated to clinical environment. This is still at a research level. But still, you see the advantage and beauty of it all, right?
But along the way, this all got "hijacked" by greed of corporations. And now this very amazing invention got turned into a monster that's killing us. Killing our environment, crippling our intellectual and emotional abilities. It's...it's terrifying. It's bleak. I don't know where this goes next. I feel like I am being paranoid. The pattern recognition that AI can do is scary. Because a lot of people also believe it's accurate. It's trained on data provided by humans. The data that's biased with human prejudice. How? Social conditions influnce these data. This data that trains the model. And then model LEARNS this pattern with intrinsic bias. The model then reinforces this bias further.
It was supposed to make human life better. Now...I don't know anymore. It all seems hopeless. My research seems hopeless. I work with this. This is my research. Cancer prognosis. Am I just helping in feeding a monster? Is it all just...is it all just gonna end up in our destruction? What is the point. Where are we going. I don't know. I don't even know what data this cellphone of mine trapping and sending somewhere. Who knows. I keep the camera of my laptop covered. My friends think I am paranoid. Maybe I am. I feel tense when even my laptop updates automatically...
While so many of us using wifi and subscription to wash THEIR FUCKING CLOTHES IN A WASHING MACHINE. Why does sit require an app to run a fucking washing machine?! WHY?? An app installation means you agree with terms and policies. And Location. Why. Why do you need my location you fucking laundry machine?! Are people even realising what I type right now? Because the placements of the letters and numbers are almost standardized in all cellphones. It's not fucking tough for an AI to learn that. Fuck. I CAN DEVELOP ONE THAT DOES IT. It won't even be a new technology. Captcha, recaptcha, reverifying KYC. Why do you need my face. My whole fucking 3D SCAN. MOTHERFUCKER.
Now, you know how paranoid I am. And working in the field, even if it is research level only yet, is not helping my mental health. Maybe being a farmer in same ballerina village is the right answer. Who knows. I am tired, my friends. I am so fucking. Tired.
ai, because actually doing anything or having access to real, correct information is overrated, isn't it? or having a half-decent job that pays you enough to survive? we don't like that? fuck you.
Wow, anonymous rage-posting at strangers. Very bold.
Look, you’re mad about the economy, job precarity, and the collapse of reliable information — totally fair things to be mad about.
But yelling “fuck you” at random people for using a tool that checks their facts isn’t the brilliant takedown you think it is.
If your real issue is with corporations, deregulation, and governments that treat workers like disposable parts, then direct the fire at them instead of punching down at whoever’s closest to your inbox.
AI didn’t create your boss. AI didn’t create your rent. AI didn’t create austerity.
Be mad at the right people — you’ll feel a lot less silly afterward.

ai terror people really, really want sora or whatever the next video generator is to be a child porn engine, because then they could have an ethical reason to oppose generative art that no one could possibly argue with. except it's not, and all they can manage to do is threaten you and your hypothetical children when you point that out.
you say ok, so where exactly is the generated "csam" then? where would the children whose likenesses it's apparently stealing actually see it and be harmed? and the response is "why do you want to know that?? pervert!!". okay. so if no one's seen it and no one can find it, how is it hurting children exactly? and the response is "do you want porn made of YOUR CHILD??" and they've already blocked you and written a callout post saying you're a pedophile.
i am forcibly sending you back in time to a 2003 forum discussion about the moral unsoundness of image editing (soulless, takes less time and effort, isn't REAL art, etc)
lol no i'm not gonna reblog your 5 paragraph effortpost about how anti-AI people use disabled artists' non-generative work as inspoporn in their arguments against generative art, because you felt the need to include a clarification that you DO in fact think generative art is inherently bad and evil BUT you don't like that people aren't praising you, a small business owner marginalized artist correctly for mortifying your sinful body to create.
you could stand to take a look at the way YOU minimize and dismiss disabled artists who don't or can't sacrifice our bodies to make art. you wouldn't care about water consumption and evil ravenous datacentres if it had only ever been called "generative art" and never connected to the marketing term "articificial intelligence"; you'd be posting equally annoyingly about how lovely it is that developers are creating tools for people like us instead.
scapegoating the medium itself and not the capitalist entities using "AI" to advance genocide and make profit at the expense of human life just obfuscates what actual harm is being done and by whom and makes your argument incoherent.
