I'm replying to this one because it's the first one I got, but thanks also to @lajulie24 @walkawaytall and @onwardintolight for sending it! 💜

Usual disclaimers that picking just five fics out of 100+ is a nearly impossible task, feelings vary, I'd have to reread all of them, etc—I feel like these are closer to my top five, in no particular order (all Han/Leia centered):

honey don't feed me (I will come back) - vampire Leia my beloved! This is an AU but set in-universe, and it's a very serious and very smutty fic that adds extra angst and stakes to the Han/Leia relationship circa ESB. And of course I overthought about vampirism. I really liked my writing here, and coming up with the blood-drinking smut.

Mother, make me a song so sweet - Leia (with Han and Luke) accidentally travels back in time to Alderaan. I loved this as a way for Breha to meet Han and Luke, to work through my feelings about time-travel AUs and to give Leia some healing.

keep with me forward (all through the night) - remember Chandler and Monica's "how could we let this happen?" "seven times!"? This fic is sort of like that. But it's also a mission fic with fake dating right after a kiss both Han and Leia are trying to forget about. Clearly failing.

Courting Princess Leia - this was written shortly after finally reading The Courtship of Princess Leia, that horrible no-good EU novel, and it addresses the main flaws without which there would be no book and we would all be better off for it. The first chapter is smutty, but if you don't like smut and would still be interested in an awkward group dinner with Prince Isolder, I think chapter 2 can be read on its own.

✑ PROCESSING: pick a fic and I’ll tell you what it was like to write it!

this fic fucking HAUNTS me. you don't understand. i have so much shit planned. i've thought so much about how omegaverse tropes would interplay with the fucking military and the hazards of active combat and the goddamn stalag. i'm deliberately subverting as many fanon assumptions as i possibly can, and not just with the buckies and curt. i have thoughts about all three of the guys' relationships to their experiences of their designations, how they see each other through that lens, how the rest of their fellow soldiers see them and each other, and it's all in service of the MOST reviled fic trope/genre out there and like four people within the fandom will read it because it's not clegan-only. i am terrified i won't be able to finish it because the mota fixation will leave eventually and simultaneously i have no idea how i'm going to pull off all the ideas i have. i'm pleased with and proud of the worldbuilding i'm doing in it and i'm so glad the people who have read it and commented are enjoying it so far. it's not my only big multi chapter au for mota but i am stupid invested in it and that's scary all on its own.

♡ SMALL THINGS: pick a fic and I’ll tell you my favorite minor detail from it

ohhh there are MANY little details from chapters yet to come that i hope SOMEONE picks up on but restraining myself to the single posted chapter i'll say that this paragraph:

By the time Bucky's swung up and in Curt's back inside too, up on his toes as he stretches full-body, fingertips brushing the compartment ceiling. Alphas like to show off, but this isn't that, Curt's face all scrunched up, unselfconscious and smelling like sleep, not seduction. Bucky's gaze catches on the broadness of his chest pushed out by the arch of his back anyway.

The first character I first fell in love with: Zack! He doesn't even play a huge part in the og, but I don't know, there was something about him that made me love him right away 😂 The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Cloud! At the beginning of the og I thought he was boring, I just couldn't get him and I was young too, but the more I played, the more I've understood his doubt, and now I absolutely adore him! ❤️ The character everyone else loves that I don’t: I'm not sure there's one, but maybe Cid ? I don't hate him, but I hate how he speaks to Shera in the og, it really annoys me. The character I love that everyone else hates: I like both Tifa and Aerith and I felt like too many people people try to put them against each other 😅 The character I used to love but don’t any longer: None! The character I would totally smooch: Zack of couuurse 🥰 The character I’d want to be like: I've always admired Tifa for her inner strength and also because I do karate, so I've always been excited to see a female martial artist in a FF game! The character I’d slap: Hojo, I hate him so much 😂 A pairing that I love: Zack/Aerith and Cloud/Tifa are both so damn adorable, I can't really choose! ❤️ A pairing that I despise: Any ship involving Sephiroth after Nibelheim!

🐝 Recommend a fic with great symbolism, or themes, something really clever, or like. just something you could write a whole literary essay about!

I really love the theme of Macabre by @walkawaytall: Han finds out that Leia has been marking all the times she should have died in her calendar. Very unique, poignant and well-written!
