A house made of many Towers of Pimps
say what you want about the creators but the achievement hunter and yogscast fandoms are two of the most creative fanbases I’ve ever been apart of.
we literally took a bunch of minecraft skins- a set of pixels vaguely resembling a person (some of them not even that) and made incredible fanart and fics about them. the absolutely ridiculous detail i see in AH/YOG fan content is always breathtaking.
i look at the actual inspiration, fucking minecraft let’s plays that seemingly have limited meaning (depending on the series) and how different it is to the art and writing. show someone with no prior knowledge some Ya Dead Ya Dead fanart, or have someone read an Urban Magic Yogs fanfic, and they’d probably be shocked to find out the original ideas for this came from minecraft of all things.
both channels were founded in the same year and got popular for minecraft around the same time (SOI came out in 2011 & the first AHMC was 2012.) even if the fans don’t overlap it’s still amazing that the stories are so different yet... have the same premise.
i mean, look- I know post is a little outdated to make, but look at skyfactory! tell me the dynamics of the godlike personas don’t remind you of some of the complete pack content. you cant deny YDYD feels very blackrock with its last two episodes.
long story short: embrace these fandoms. take advantage of their uniqueness and the creativity of it’s content and make something great, no matter how crazy it might seem
