Announcing ThanksGillen, a week to be thankful for the one and only, Aidan Gillen.

Every day of the week offers a simple choice or a prompt. Do one, do both! It's really up to you. Sunday, Nov. 21 is the last day of the event and is a free day. Do whatever your little heart desires. Participate every day or just a few days, no pressure.

On each day's second option, feel free to use your imagination. The prompt doesn't have to be interpreted literally or it can be. It's entirely up to you.

The only rule is to have fun and as always, be respectful of one another.

There is no right or wrong way to participate. You can contribute fan art, gifs, edits, fan fiction or whatever the hell you can think up.

Aidan Gillen Week 2019 | Day Two | Favourite Scene

So I am thinking about doing an Aidan Gillen week from Oct. 25 to end on Oct. 31, Halloween Day.

Firstly though, I would like to know how many people would be interested in participating, if any. I mean, I could do it myself but that's no fun.

Secondly, shoot me your ideas for prompts. I want to do some classic fanweek prompts but with it being spooky season and all, I was thinking it might be fun to incorporate the holiday somehow.

I did not get a lot of response regarding moving the Aidan appreciation week to November. Got several likes on the post but that doesn't tell me anything.

So, I have made the decision myself to move it to November so that everyone has more time to work on contributions. I feel this is the best way honestly because it will probably produce a higher quality of content. And may even mean that more people will participate. Because as of right now, it doesn't really seem there will be very many participants. 😭 Makes me kinda sad. This Fandom was never a huge one but it did used to be a lot bigger. When it's ME that is the primary Aidan gif maker on Tumblr, then things have definitely gone down hill. Because I was never the one who made the most gifs, the best quality gifs, or even the most liked and popular gifs.

With that being said, I feel like it's all the more reason to do an Aidan appreciation week. To bring some life back into our tiny Fandom. And small fandoms need fun too!

So AGweek will be from Nov. 15 - Nov. 21. I don't want to do it Thanksgiving week because any of us in the States will probably be busy that week, planning or traveling or spending time with family.

But how do you all feel about calling the week ThanksGillen? I know every country doesn't celebrate a Thanksgiving but we would be giving thanks for Aidan, not for white people slaughtering Native Americans. I dunno. I think it sounds really good but I don't want to offend anyone.

Thank you so much! 😊 And I just want to say, I appreciate your "fucking" in the middle of your "absolutely". I cuss like a fucking sailor and I always enjoy finding my people.

And no, fan weeks aren't just for gif creators. The idea is to give a prompt/theme that anyone can work with. You can contribute gifs, photo edits, video edits (fan cams), fan fic, or fan art (and that is open to interpretation, it doesn't just have to be drawings).

Basically anything you wish to create. The idea is to make it to where any and everyone can participate because we know that not everyone can gif, not everyone can write, and not everyone can draw. I've talked to loads of people who feel that they have the artistic talent of a potato.

You could make a collage. Write a poem. Write a song. Write Aidan a letter. Make a sculpture and take a picture of it to post. Whatever your wee heart desires. Shit you could go get a tattoo that supports a prompt you chose, snap a picture, and upload that bad boy.

Get crazy! And get creative. However, I don't suggest the tattoo unless it's one you already had in mind or it's one that washes off. I don't need anyone blaming me for a tattoo they regret, ya feel?

For every day of the week there will be two prompts/themes to choose from.

For example let's say Day 1 is Favorite character or Do you wanna build a snowman? Now, that's not really what day one will be, just an example. Basically I want to make one choice something very simple for people that don't really want to have to think too much and one choice that's open to interpretation. So for Do you wanna build a snowman, you could make a gifset of Aidan or one of his characters in a scene that involves snow. You could write a fic about him actually building a snowman. You could draw him holding a poster of Jon Snow and fanboying over it. You could write a fic where Petyr is a cocaine dealer who goes by the street name Papa Snow or the product could be called Snow.

See what I mean though? Completely open to interpretation.

In a few days I will post an official announcement that will have all of the themes listed for each day and the rules. And, they aren't really rules, just how to tag your post so that I can find it and share it and others that want to see all of the creations can find them.
