Today I learned that Greg Thelen passed away on June 5th. I worked with Greg on his comic, Amanda Green, SIA. I really love the characters and the charming story I got to illustrate.

Greg and I also teamed up a few months ago to create a pitch for the creators for creators grant. Although we didn’t win, we had begun submitting to publishers for the graphic novel idea. We were both so excited to see where it would go. I hope I can do something with what we had and continue it in his memory. It really meant a lot to me and I was so proud of what we’d made together.

I’ve never worked with anyone more thoughtful and understanding. He had a skill for creating real, heartfelt stories, and I’m so happy to have worked with him.
