Taylor published a new commercial promoting the Target variant of her album The Life of a Showgirl: The Crowd Is Your King. In it, we get a delightfully humorous look at the dual sides of Taylor: The performer and the director. In thinking about the shattered effect on the album, Iâm hopeful that Showgirl pulls apart all these facets of Taylor that make up this showgirl and puts them in the spotlight.Â
Director Taylorâs outfit is also one I would very much love to copy + paste for my own life. The basic items are simple in theory, but itâs the details on these pieces that elevates the whole ensemble. The oversized silhouette of the blazer and its subtle pinstripe, the zippered corset top, and jeans with an edgy element all have something special going for them. The stacks of jewelry, all repeats from Taylorâs collection, also work to lift the outfit and add polish.Â
Itâs nice to see her wearing Gant again. You might recall in 2023 Taylor wore many of this brandâs enviable pieces of outerwear. I know I have heart eyes over this blazer. This particular design is from the Spring 2025 collection, borrowed from the mens section. Creative director at Gant, Christopher Bastin, told me how Taylor does ânouveau prep better than anyone else.âÂ
