No photos or videos because I forgot, but we did another day at the agility class we did last week. There were two others there and I felt like some of the skills were hard for Ryker and I may have pushed him a bit too much. He did better with his confidence but still struggled with pressure from the other people, the tightness of the building and most of all the other dogs.
There was a 6 month old puppy just doing some baby dog stuff and working on settling. Well they couldn't settle and we're just screaming while other dogs were out and it was hard for Ryker to focus.
Which is good to help him work through. So I didn't mind focusing more on that than agility stuff.
Here is what we were working on, measurements are off but overall you get the picture.
We did 1-3 and then 6-11. 5 was right next to the crates with the other dogs and Ryker couldn't do it. Ryker really struggled with 2-3 if I baby sat him into the tunnel I couldn't get far enough back and he was jumping on the A-Frame from the side. Yet if I pulled away to have him come to hand he would take the a frame or pull towards me. All things that just need better skills for.
Teeter and dog walk contacts
Weaving with gates (not my favorite method but thought I would give it a try) we did it in practice on its own but not with sequencing.
Able to refocus after another dog screams
Tunnel and A frame discrimination. He did have a few oops on this, but he hadn't really seen that and worked on that yet. Yet the handling was easy enough to block the incorrect obstacle.
Jumping pinwheel, he did it but not with much forward drive. Needed a lot of support. I need to work on this.
Call to hand, he gets locked onto obstacles very easily and will not call off. Calling him to hand he finds aversive and thinks he did something wrong. So we need lots of rewarding on that.
At the same time he needs more obstacle independence and commitment. If I move away from an obstacle he will pull off obstacles if I move away after the cue.
