- not yelling at queer ppl

- being overly kind to queer ppl in a way that separates your treatment of them from your treatment of everyone else

- supporting only specific groups of queer ppl and no one else

- saying that you're still an ally even though you're not trying/don't care about respecting queer ppls' boundaries

being an ally IS:

- treating queer ppl with the same respect as anyone else

- NOT SINGLING OUT QUEER PPL SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE QUEER

- supporting every. single. group. of. queer. ppl.

- actually trying to respect queer ppls' boundaries

i really really hate it when ppl claim they're an ally but then they turn and say the most hateful homophobic or transphobic thing

if a trans person asks you not to call them girl then you stop calling them girl. you, as their friend, cannot simply go "i'm not changing that for you". IF YOU SAY THAT THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DITCH YOU. that isn't fair to them!

everyone is valid! don't just go "except not trans ppl" or "except not bi ppl" or "except not aspec ppl" if you don't want to support the entire community then news flash: YOU'RE NOT AN ALLY.

the least you have to do is try! i can't speak for everyone, but i can say that if you really unintentionally misgender me and it was an honest mistake i would never yell at you! just please don't throw your hands up and go "oh well it doesn't matter" cause it may not matter to you but it does to me!

and a friendly reminder that if you are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, or bigoted in any way shape or form then get tf off of my blog. i'd rather have one follower(@gemfoxplayz hiii) than three hundred who will say they respect me and then call me a girl.

sometimes it’s sheep ranches on the moon and failing in your sleep and sometimes love is a hug on horseback. sometimes!!! sometimes!!! sometimes love is a botched penicillin injection and “i got you, babygirl.” sometimes love is being all poetic and losing your minds together. sometimes (believe it or not!!) it’s even holding yourself at knife point, wrapping your child in your coat, giving them that same knife. sometimes love is fear, and pain, and death. sometimes love is “you’ll only come after her.”
