I’ve been MIA because I haven’t felt much motivation recently. I’ve cast on and frogged more projects than I can count.

But I’m very happy to finally be done with this sweater!!! It’s the Cinnastripe Sweater by Whistle & Wool. I started it months ago, before all my thyroid issues and cancer diagnosis. It waited patiently for me to pick it up every once in awhile and make progress. I haven’t completed a project for myself in quite awhile. It’s worked in broken rib stitch and the collar and cuffs are folded over for a very beautiful finished look.

I was having trouble with my Sanna Cardigan and after many times of redoing the same section I decided to finally frog. I wish life was that easy to turn back or restart. This week has been really hard. I have cancer. That feels so weird to say. My life has been a daze. I wake up and use the little (mental and physical) energy I have to take care of my daughter. And the little I have left is for me to knit.

My life has been nothing but health issues for the past 5 years. Gallbladder, Cervical cancer scare, Hysterectomy, Graves Disease and now Thyroid cancer. I have wanted to give up so much recently. But I want to be around for my daughter and husband and family that loves me. So I have to keep fighting.

Knitting calms my mind. So I decided to use my special birthday yarn to start a different project. This way as I can keep this simple pleasure as my world is on fire.

Thanks for listening and being here. I’ve spent my life being the strong one for my family and so now, even though I desperately need to vent and cry, I don’t know how to do that with my loved ones. This is a much needed release.
