It's a great song, and it was Alto, Everett, and I's song. It was our song. We loved that song. We would hide away in Everett's OR when it was a long, quiet shift or when Alto had just gotten back from a mission, and we would blast it on loop until none of us could sing anymore (Everett and Alto averaged out on being tied for who could go for the most loops, but my average is 15 loops so do with that information what you will.)

Alto and I listened to it together yesterday and it was the biggest comfort I think either of us have had since we formed.

I formed yesterday, and, to my delight, I already knew someone in the system! And they knew me! And it seemed like we were from the same timeline! But no! We've got one tiny little difference! Everything was exactly the same except for one tiny detail: someone's name

This system's Doctor Alto Clef fictive knew Jack Bright.

I knew Elias Shaw.

Literally everything else was the same, but one person had a different name.

God, I know it shouldn't *mean* anything, that it shouldn't change our friendship, but that was Al's fiancé. And sure, he knows when I say "Elias" I'm talking about "Jack", and I know that "Jack" and "Elias" were the same person. But I think we'll always mourn the fact that a few letters kept our timelines apart.
