Ive always been a writer and character designer. Fifth grade, my parents looked through my sketch book and found a comic I had drawn. The comic was about a tiger girl with no name who was hated by everyone and hunted to be killed. When asked about it, I said it was just a story. That it meant nothing. And I was believed. I don't know why I said that. I know if I said something different nothing really would have changed. But I can't help but think maybe if I had just said the real reason behind that comic, maybe something would have been different. Maybe if I said something, my abuse would have been brought to light sooner. Maybe if I hadn't hidden the comic again after that interaction and a different adult had seen it, they would have known something was wrong with my home life. Maybe then things could have been different
