“Excuse me, Tilly. Can you pass me that?” Wylan asked. Tilly pounced, landing nimbly on the highest shelf. She carefully toed around the vials until she reached the right one, and nimbly batted it off the shelf until it landed perfectly into Wylan’s hands. It was only then that her fur raised, and she hissed, claws out.

Wylan turned and blinked owlishly. It wasn’t often that one of the Crows came to the lab, the sell too ripe of burning chemicals, things too dangerous to touch. He laughed awkwardly.

“Oh. Hi,” He smiled awkwardly. “Sorry, I wasn’t expecting anyone to come down. Can I get you anything? Tea?”

“So, did you get crows to anchor you down? Or are we making our home on the sea? So to speak.”

Her eyes flickered around, looking for not only signs of trouble but signs that they weren't alone. So far it seemed as if they were, but she knew better than to think it would stay that way. Far too many times in the past she'd been told one thing and had another happen. And she wasn't about to let that happen this time. She'd spent far too much time on the run to let yet another meeting get the better of her. Which had her thinking just what it was they wanted from her. Her services rarely came cheap and Ventress knew that this was probably yet another assassination request. That tended to be what each of her meetings were about and this one gave her the same impression. Of course, she could've been wrong, but something told her they wanted someone dead. "Or maybe I should ask who you want eliminated."

“Wh...” Wylan started. It took him a moment to realize what was going on, to know Nina’s hands were moving. That they were moving around him came second, and the feeling of a weight and warmth came third. He looked down in confusion, and then back up. “Why have I got a blanket?”

“We’re here for you. We’re all here for you - you are not alone.”
