could you maybe write a little about my fave repair afforoll?

I’ve written a bit about them myself but I’d love to see other people’s opinions on them as a couple :)

AFFOROLL

This is actually a ship ive considered shipping myself..... affogatos snobish attitude mixed with butterrolls ego and naiveté blend togather quite well. And best of all theyre a ship i forsee tons of choas between hehe.

SIMILARITIES

Most obviously, both characters have quite the large ego, presented pretty differently i will say. Affogato is much more egotistical in his appearances, making sure people can see his greatness when you look at himz which is always a great character trait, but thats mostly it the rest of his attributes are not really being shown off the same as just him. Adversely, butterroll doesnt even seem to be trying to flaunt or gloat, often just boasting about his acheivements while throwing his other creations under the bus (cough, cough MATCHA COOKIE) his ego comes from what hes done and made not really focusing on himself as a person (even though it is implied he has plenty to show off about himslef personally). Another trait they share is apathyz while affogato is a slightly more empathetic charcater, that is clearly not his intention and is being willingly ignorant while butterrolls ignorance could be summed up to him being a "himbo" or could be because he is so self absorbed the feelings and well-being of others is juet something that never crosses his mind. Infact the cookies of darkness all have intereeting ways of feigning ingorance and its pretty interesting seeing them all deal with it since most of them are well meaning in some way. Next and probably the even more obvious connection between the 2 is their association with the cookies of darkness, meaning that ultimately even if they both joined for seperate reasons they have the same goal. Although when it comes to their roles in the cod i dont rewlly see them intersecting, considering that butterroll is given a specific role (to bake) and affogato just joined after loosing everything and kinda seems like a replacment for dark choco especially since he only gets mentioned 0 times AFTER joining and gets mentioned ONCE when he does join😭, so what he is actually doing, i have no idea; mabey dark enchantress just enjoys housing the homeless and evil.

DIFFERENCES

Im reading butterrolls story specifically to write this and this guy is way more loopy and than i orginally thought, oh my goodness. Moving on. I actually couldnt really think of many attributes they have different other than their motivations and backstory, alot of the personality traits they have are the same but presented in different ways such as their enthusiasim or methods of acting. Being motivated by different things, such as butterrolls obsession with baking and research which, is just a personal life goal from what we know and isnt an influence of his past in the same way affogatos is, is a stark contrast to affos desire to have power over others and also to live rich and comfortably due to his harsh backgorund. This disparage in their relationship could potentially cause tension between them as their life goals are completely centered around themselves, which does not leave much space to let your partner be apart of it as someone you and not just someone going along with whatever you do. Otherwise, this difference could possibly allow them to become more open minded to other ways of thinking? But that is just a generalization of what differences can do in a relationship. Infact i should probably ads to my intro explaining what these categories even mean, as it may not be obvious....

DYNAMIC

The main problem i see is them just disregarding eachother as people, specifically from butterroll, due to his apathetic nature which im sure affo would hate especially as he clearly cares for the things that he loves, so in a relationship where one party is clearly trying to form SOME sort of bond, the other would be quick to shoot it down, not even on purpose id assume although i wouldnt be surprised if it was purposeful knowing butterroll. But moving on as i like to keep these relationships non toxic (since i assume yall want your ship to actually like eachother). One way these cookies could overcome their differences i believe is just catering to eachother equally, similar to a more transactional relationship, which is a relationship type i think theyd both love due to its formality and little leeway to deviate in structure. E.g butterroll could gift living failures too affogato to be used as his servants, and affogato could.... be emotional support, i guess, either way im sure butterroll would enjoy affos present if theyre in a relationship. Idk butterroll is just such a one note character i dont see him wanting much of anything outside of his work. If you have any ideas for their dynamic as a partnership be sure too tell me, i could possibly make a follow up going more in depth into what theyd actually do or give to eachother. Although, there is nothing wrong with a one-sided relationship and a charcater simply taking on the role of a "giver" because theyre bored or something along the lines of that, perhaps butterroll began dating affo so he had something to actually do when hes not working (assuming he ever stops working)

CONCLUSION

Im not going to be biased because i was going to possibly ship this but i AM going to biased because it includes a sociopathic character, who are always interesting when put in relationships personally i rate this ship a 8/10!!!! Affogato is also one of my fav characters so theres no way this was getting under a six, i mean id give this ship a 10 if i didnt worry about relying on both my analysis and opinions to rate things, hehehe.

Honestly I feel like this is also a slight character analysis along with head cannons? Idk, I’m linking them to stuff I’ve been taught tho so maybe it counts (take this with a grain of salt). This is also the first time I’m doing this in like, depth so, correct me if I’ve gotten anything mixed up at all!

First meeting

. They did NOT get along well at first. While I don’t think any if them were openly hostile, they were definitely some underlying issues and passive aggressiveness going on (mainly on affogato’s side, though i think butter roll may have had a never struck once or twice)

. This is mainly cuz I they both sort of remind me of the argument ‘religion vs science’. Do i think affogato is as religious anymore? No. I’ll be honest I think it may have been a way to get power, but it also provides him explanations to things he himself can’t even think of or lie about.It also could be related to his past. In one of the loading screens, it says that affogato cookie went around the dark cacao kingdom, learning witchcraft. The religion he believes in and became the religious figure for, could be related to the witchcraft. So that’s why he relies on it, not only as a potential explanation and manipulation tactic but as also maybe comfort or familiarity.

- Butter roll in the other hand is obviously very scientific, he definitely relies heavily on facts. He is also, very blunt, which we can see in the story ‘the laboratorium’. Mainly when a dough creature is made, which others marvel at. On the contrary, Butter roll tells them to dispose of it, explaining that this is impressive but not their end goal. He is also, an extremely positive person, being described in a loading screen as being voted ‘best boss to work for’. This could be just him as a person, maybe it’s also a manipulation tactic? Or a coping mechanism? It’s honestly a little difficult cult to tell (him and affogato don’t have much backstory stuff going on, so it’s a little difficult to pin point their behaviour and thought process).

. To sum that up, I see them as toxically positive as a way to excuse their bluntness x manipulative ex religious leader who sugar coats their lies and stuff idk. I just think they’d be talking, affogato would say something he believes is correct or a lie he made up, and butter roll may try to disprove it, and then it would go on from there.

Post first meeting

. Due to their constant bickering and passive aggressive comments, group settings with them all, especially if the cod are having a meeting of sorts would be a slight pain.

. Choco wherehound and licorice cookie definitely tried setting up and intervention or something. Did it work? Slightly. Overall the lesson learnt was don’t let them talk to each other for more that 10 minutes without supervision.

. Obviously they’d probably have to work together at some point, eventually learning to appreciate eachother. Maybe butter roll find affogatos potion skills interesting? Maybe potentially asking him to make artificial flavourings for future dough experiments? This would definitely boost affogatos ego, potentially making him start to like him more? Like i mentioned before, they remind me of the religion vs science argument. Most people’s conclusion to the argument is that they actually can work together, like how I think these two would eventually find some common ground.

Okay here’s the more general head cannons

. Hight -Butter roll, 195cm (6’5ft) affogato, 182cm (6’0ft)

. Definitely have hair (or icing I suppose?) care routines. As someone with curly hair, I KNOW the struggles of curly hair, so I know for a fact that butter roll definitely had some products. Even if he didn’t before, affogato would have forced him to, he seems like the guy who would have a routine for most things. I like to think they help each other out sometimes, especially with styling.

. Butter roll would usually be a morning person, he definitely would get up at abnormal hours, probably ranging from 4-6, though I can imagine him staying up late for work. Affogato on the other hand is definitely a night owl. Mainly due to him being a coffee cookie so he probably has gotten into the habit of pulling a few full nighters. To be fair I can imagine either of them dragging each other to bed.

. Also, I think they both have completely different music tastes, affogato listening to more early 2000s pop, where butter roll I feel like would listen to more alternative kinds of music, maybe emo? Bit of punk here and there? I know for a fact they would probably both like parfait cookies songs as background noise.
