He’s related to Mohn. While Mohn doesn’t remember anything since The Event, Faba does. He likes to think he’s better than other’s by saying he doesn’t miss him but that’s a lie.

The pin on his collar is a gift from Mohn, which why it’s still precious to him.

His parents are hippies, hence the name. They fully support their tall son, though they don’t understand it.

Not that he tells them what he’s doing.. not really. They wouldn’t approve.

He has a God Complex because of his discoveries. After every succesful project he’d ask ‘why stop here?’

While he doesn’t outright hate or dislike her, he does think Lusamine often doesn’t go far enough.. and is being held back by her emotions.

He also doesn’t hate children, he hates the concept of children and what it does to succesful people. He has seen it happen time and time again; a succesful peer becomes a parent and they take a step back from their job. He saw it happen with Mohn and still sees it a little in Lusamine.

He lies to himself saying he doesn’t need affection from other humans. He thinks himself above it. He is wrong.

Being a work-a-holic sure hides the empty feeling inside.

While he is also quite old, his hair loss is mostly because he keeps indoors, deep inside the foundation, most of the time. He is severly lacking some vitamin D.

He knows he should take supplements but he often forgets to eat due to working too hard. 

Luckily for him, There are some employees who care. Sometimes it Wicke, sometimes it’s an employee or a scientist. 

While people make an effort to invite him to things, he will only show up if Lusamine says it’s mandatory. Otherwise he is a no show.

It’s not that he doesn’t care, it’s just that he thinks he has better things to do with his time. 

... And also imagine actually starting to care about others, surely that’ll be problematic in the long run. 

Even though he won’t admit to it publicly, out of fear of being judged, he loves acting and used to be in theatre club in high school. 

Has a decent enough singing voice too!

However, in the long run he decided that the arts don’t pay and being a neuroscientist was much more.... rewarding. 

He does still knit though.

Despite being known as a stuck up and an asshat, he still makes time for the holidays for employees. Not by interacting with them but by giving them gifts and a hefty bonus at the end of the year. 

Knows how a brain works so you won’t catch him overworking the people directly under him. He needs them after all. 

His favorite body part on other people are hands.

He loves hot chocolate with whipped cream. 

Owns only outdated tech and will sneer at the foundation begging him to update; why would he make himself an easy target for hackers?

Has a blog to simulate human interaction.

He likes dropping hints that he has a blog, but will get angry and upset if people don’t like. He puts so much of his own self in that blog that he feels that it’s an direct insult towards him if they don’t love it. 

When he isn’t using it for his own gain and project he’s an amazing scientist and well respected. He knows what he is doing and he’s good at it.

He is however, so bored by humans just accepting the way things are, when there is so much more that can be done.

He already created new life, why not bring the dead back?

Or mix a human with Pokemon? 

Why? Why not. Why not push the limits of what humans can do?

AETHER FOUNDATION HEADCANONS

Most employees are just pawns, most genuinely believe they are helping Pokemon and nothing else. This includes the employees you find off Aether Foundation.

The closer they are to higher ups though, the more they know.

All the not so savoury stuff is usually hidden from plain sight and unless you go look for it directly you won’t find it.

It is possible to get fired from the foundation, but only if you are in the group of employees I mentioned first.

The other group won’t just get their contract terminated but them as well.

Mohn is a special case, because Lusamine couldn’t bring herself to hurt her husband, so they wiped his memories. Maybe it fully worked, maybe it didn’t. Either way, Mohn is quiet about the whole thing and at least pretends to not remember anything he saw.

The only reason they had to do this was because he started to ask too many questions and while he did have his wife (and family)’s best interest at heart, she refused to see it as she was already to obsessed with the Ultra Beasts as this point.

This happend after Faba was hired so they did work together briefly.

FABA HEADCANONS

Before he came to work at Aether he was already an accomplished neuro scientist. He was amazing at it, but it was almost obsessive.

He kept wanting to push the boundaries of what a human mind could do.

A side project of him was brainwashing. Was it something that could be done or was it mere science fiction?

At his old job he couldn’t give his side project his full attention due to it being unethical and morally wrong. While it was a passion project, he was too smart to get fired over it.

Aether did give him that freedom as long as he managed to keep it on the downlow and kept working on what he was hired to do as well.

He was the one who came up with a better solution as to literally terminate employees; brainwashing them so they won’t even doubt their employers.

It worked and that’s when he developed his God Complex.

Faba figured out though, that his method of brainwashing worked best when the subjects liked him or at least were willing to listen to him.

He loves employees that suck up to him, not only because of an ego boost but because they make perfect little test subjects.

He then shows his true colors, the horrible person that he truly is, but who cares because anyone who can testify against him will soon have no mind of their own anyway.

He can control them with Pavlovian responses.

Much to his dismay he had to include Lusamine in the list of people who his little subjects would listen to.

As soon as he brainwashed a few employees he wondered why stop there.

He then started to work on Type:Null.

Who knows what more he would’ve done if the game events hadn’t taken place.

My guess is more projects like not only splicing Pokemon but humans, and humans and Pokemon.

EMPLOYEE HEADCANONS

Working at Aether is a pretty decent gig.

The Foundation is modern and cool during the Alolan summers also the pay is worth it.

Promotion is possible but other employees do see a change in behaviour in their former friends

However they assure them it’s because the work is just too demanding and they’re just tired.

Some like to suck up to the higher ups, Especially Faba. He’s an complete asshat but he apparently gives pretty sweet bonuses at the end of the year.

So whatever, just pretend you like the guy for a few hours a day.

And it’s easy and fun to see the old guy act all high and mighty while you’re probably making fun of him in the employee groupchat.

Until you do get that promotion.

And you get an updated uniform which includes a helmet, but putting it on kinda gives you a major headache.

Suddenly it becomes a little hard to remember what you ate this morning, or what locker number is yours..

The only thing your body seems to respond too are demands given by two people you think are important.

Sometimes someone talks to you, and you try to respond but no sound comes out.

Or maybe you did speak and they didn’t hear you.
