Soooo Iâm sure thereâs lots of things I could tweak and continously improve.... but here it is! My little adaption of The Fox and the Crow!
Iâve been working on this on and off for agggggges and It took way longer than I thought it would but Iâm happy with it for now. This was my first time properly colouring and shading... usually Iâm just doing a bunch of block colour - which is nice, it reminds me of my printmaking irl but I wanted to expand my skills and thatâs what this project was about. I had a good time, I accomplished the ultimate goal even if thereâs a few (many) things Iâd like to go back and change, this was a good first attempt and I just donât wanna work on this any longer! Excited for what comes next!
Anyway Iâm super tired so Iâm gonna go lie down. Probably gonna edit this message so it makes more sense tomorrow. Ciao xxxx

florafunweek2021 Day 1: Firsts/Regrets
Have some of their backstory in RWBYPirates. Elmâs an Atlesian noble named Greta Rainhart forbidden from loving Vine, a farm boy. That doesnât stop them from sneaking out and eventually having their first kiss. Theyâre soon caught by Elmâs mother and after a fight involving Vineâs family and authorities, Vine is forced into the Atlas Navy so that he wonât see Elm. This backfires when the ship he works on escorts Elm on a brief noble trip. Upon returning to Atlas, Elm disappears and eventually turns up in the Navy with cropped hair and her new name, Elm Ederne. Both are placed on the Aesopica under the command of Commodore Ebi. Things change however when the ship betrays the Atlesian Navy, Admiral Ironwood, and King Ozpin, but thatâs a story for another day.

I finally finished my lines for my fable comic!! Only took two months lol
ID below <3
So this is kind of a break from the rest of this blog but I wanted to post it here for posterity!Â
So yeah this is what Iâve been working on, an adaptation of the âFox & the Crowâ, one of Aesopâs Fables. It was one of my favourites as a child and I still have the collection of fables that I used to begin to learn to read French. The illustrations still really stick out on my mind and so its been nice to work on this comic when the story was a big piece of my childhood. Itâs been slow progress after a flare up in April and demotivation in May, and a recent visit to stay with my bf and his family so I donât go mad for the isolation. (I live alone and have spent most of the year not seeing other people for months at a time). BUT Iâm still having a lot of fun and learning more about panel composition etc., even if Iâm really bad at drawing animals!Â
This whole thing is really about me learning to colour more than anything else, as well as to start experimenting with panel layout and to start doing finer line work with digital stuff, so Iâm excited to work on that next and continue learning! Hopefully without the next steps being as drawn out...
