I had that impression at the end of AA6 too, with 'how the fuck are they going to top this in AA7?', but I feel like they're probably going to start over with a new trilogy considering how there's now two complete trilogies that developed Phoenix and Apollo and usually the first game in the trilogy is good but picks up in later games. But if AA7 somehow tops AA6 holy crap I'm going to be so surprised
And yeah, I hated how much Athena was forced to take a backseat in the game considering how well written she was in DD and that the developers did research sensitive hearing and how Athena could actually cope despite how badly it had affected her. But I feel that because the dialogue hinted that the developers really wanted to grow Athena and they actually had her call Dhurkeâs death (which I consider the biggest plot twist of the game) tells me they want to do something big with herÂ
I canât see how they could feasibly pull off a new trilogy.
Hey, so I read the whole thing on AA6 and I agree on most of your points, except for the part where it's sketchy whether AA7 would happen. They hinted it in the dialogue they really wanted Athena to grow (especially when Apollo's leaving the agency), so I'm really confident that AA7 is going to happen and Athena will be the central character to the plot. They can do so much with her and they still have stuff to explain eg. "I was in a difficult jam but Mr. Wright helped me" from DD's DLC case
Also I donât think Justicykes is quite over as long distance relationships are a thing and I have met my ex-partner in person. The relationship in person didnât work out and we broke up (it wasnât in a bad way fortunately), but some long distance relationships last a long time and work out. So itâs a possibility.Â
The reason why I feel that AA7 is dubious is mainly because, as I said, Iâm not sure how they can top AA6 in terms of scale.
Yeah, I guess that's how I feel about the game too. What's kinda weird is that when I replayed DD again instead of finding flaws I found a lot of things to like about the game. But I have my doubts for SoJ except for Case 2. Although, the subtle foreshadowing is still top notch. I replayed the investigating tomb part in Case 5 and found Athena calls that Dhurke is already dead. Amazing.
True, foreshadowing is still great. They also hinted at Ingaâs prosopagnosia by having him fail to recognize Nick at first, which was pretty good.Â
I actually liked the third and fifth case as well. They had their flaws, but the fifth one actually had some great twists and the third case blindsided me in being actually a suicide staged to seem like a murder. The âbreakdownâ scene for that one was just heartbreaking.
But yeah, Sad Monk being a complete, utter, annoying pain in the ass does no favors to any case.
Ugh, I find the most annoying thing about Nahyuta was he had no presence in the story until the very end where Ga'ran forces him to confess for a crime there was no way he could do. But man, I think the more I think about AA6 the more bad things I find with it except for Case 2
Yeah, we could have replaced him with Charley the office plant and not much would have changed up to that point. Would have just been less annoying.
I still liked the game overall, and I liked most cases as well, but the more you think about it the more glaring some of the flaws become.Â

Yeah, I do think they wanted to go with something we wouldn't expect from Apollo's backstory, but I felt his adoptive family didn't have a big impact on his life, especially Nahyuta. And Sad Monk felt pretty ineffectual as pretty much the DC Act, Ga'ran, and Retinz had more impact. And like you said in the 4th case he was shut down by Simon. It was probably better if they went down the path the fans were expecting and did more with that
I wouldnât have minded too much if Nahyuta had just been ineffectual - we already got a blander than bland prosecutor with Klavier, anyway, and it would make sense with  Nahyuta because he was pretty much a puppet for most of the time. But he was also annoying as hell and man, no revelation in the end could make me like him after the sheer pain of dealing with him.Â
So... Hey it's been awhile. Have you completed AA6 yet? What did you think of it?
I did like it! A lot more than I was expecting, really. The only thing I have a bone to pick with are some things about Apolloâs backstory.
I've been wondering if you want to play the older Fire Emblem games, as both the GBA ones that were released in English are on the North American Wii U eShop now?
Maybe! But currently my Wii U is being used for Splatoon, hahaha, and after that probably Earthbound Zero. I really want to give Earthbound a try âŚ
