Prompt #11: Seed

Lily hums, staring intently at the ground.
It's brown ground, dirt ground, with a little hole filled up in it.
"Uh, what are you looking at?" Aegis' wavering voice asks, somewhere above Lily's gaze.
"Lily planted a seed and now Lily's wanting to see what comes out," she answers, pointing at the ground. Where the covered up seed lies.
"Oh! But don't flowers and vegetables and trees take a really long time to grow?"
"Yes, but the Tree Lady said this was a special seed," Lily explains patiently, glancing up at Aegis.
Aegis, who's shifting from foot to foot, twisting her stuffed bear in her hands. One visible eye widens.
"Special? That sounds-"
"That sounds like something good will come out, I wanna see!" A bigger blot of brown crashes down next to them, a bigger blot that Lily knows too.
Jenkins and-
"Squeak squeak!"
"That's right, I hope it taste good."
Brown!
Lily smiles. "Friends are here! Good for watching!" She pats the ground next to her invitation.
Sure enough, Jenkins settles down and Aegis soon follows after. Brown hops off the girl's shoulder and crawls closer to the planted seed. Peering curiously at it.
"...did you water it?"
Wait.
Lily frowns. "Lily knew she was forgetting something!"
Aegis rises to her feet, brushing off her dress. "Hold on-! I'll get Aurita, she does water, she can water it!"
"Good idea, Aegis," Jenkins says with a grin. She pats Aegis on the ankle awkwardly, not wanting to stand. "We'll see what it is no time, don't worry, Lily!"
"Lily not worry," she agrees.
Because how can she worry when her best friends are here?
