I finally got to it now and I hated it so much. I'm hurt.
Many, many hugs.
I feel your pain. :(Ā
Iāve always said from the start, from when Lotor joined the Paladins in S5, that he would end up betraying them. Iāve always used the phrase: āLotor does for Lotor.ā So Iām not hurt that he didnāt stay with our heroes. I expected as much, since heās still a villain. (Although I did hope heād redeem himself after his betrayal. Even more so because his feelings for Allura are true. But not in a āIām the ever good guy/big hero nowā, because heās still Lotor, if that makes sense? And even if he didnāt redeem himself after all, I would have been fine with it as well.)
But Iām hurt with the way they went about it.Ā
(Which is a whole rant that I donāt want to get into right now because Iām too tired; I might write a whole post about it later.)Ā
I still loved that Hunk got his well-deserved spotlight again (without food jokes!), I still loved to see more of Hunk and Pidgeās friendship (team Punk did it again), I still loved seeing the bond between Lance and Allura developing further (now heās finally realised what he feels for her is more than just a crush, that boy is in love), I still loved seeing Coran getting more screentime again (he went all John McClane in the finale), and I especially still loved all that Sheith (āI love you.āĀ āThe Red Paladinās connection to you runs deeper than the othersāĀ āI love you.āĀ āKeithās told me all about you.ā āI love you.ā āYou found me.āĀ āI love you.ā; itās clear I loved all the Sheith, always have, always will.)
But Iām so very bitter with the way they handled Lotorās arc. He, as a character, with all his potential and all his build-up, deserved more than this rushed, all over the place mess it was just to become a Zarkon 2.0 after all.
