Elisabeth dies during the kiss and Tod has to lay down her lifeless body into her already open coffin while Lucheni hangs himself above them: peak angsty and morbid ending. Elisabeth is free, her soul was able to pass on and she finally gained the freedom she yearned for. And Tod, who finally got to hold and kiss the woman he yearned for for 45 years, now is suddenly dragged back to the reality as Elisabeth falls limp in his arms. He has to face the fact, that no matter how much he tried, he still is Death and he could have never kept a human soul with him no matter what he felt.

Tod carries Elisabeth away, but she dies in his arms: good, gives a bit more of a romance angle, but I just feel like this ending is a lot less open for interpretation as to what happens. As we see in the Essen version, Elisabeth is in the afterlife during the Prolog (unless the Elisabeth we see there is only a portrait or a mirage), and Tod doesn't look particularly affected by her dying in his arms in the ending. So, either Sisi remains with everyone else in the land of the dead (not great for her, since she's now stuck forever with all the people she wanted to be free of) or Tod got to keep just her body and not her soul (better outcome). But either way, if you're on Tod's side, then this is the ending for you.

Elisabeth dies during the kiss, but Tod lays her down onto the ground and Elisabeth's body goes away on the stage turntable: this is colloquialy known as the "baggage claim Sisi" ending and this one just infuriates me. Because they start off so well, but then the turntable happens. And it looks ridiculous and kills any morbid atmosphere this could have had.

Elisabeth and Tod enter together into the afterlife and Tod then reemerges on top of a tower with just her nightgown: let's just say that this ending is for the Elisabeth and Tod shippers. And once again, this one is kind of open for interpretation as to what actually goes on. But there are implications. And those implications give me that these two had intimate relations in the land of the dead. And I don't know if I am really a fan of this.

Elisabeth shoves Tod away from the kiss and walks away on her own: This is the independent Elisabeth I love to see! After trying to achieve complete personal freedom her entire life, she finally has the chance to be truly free, so it's only logical for her to go off on her own and leave behind everyone and everything that was a part of the life she so despised. True catharsis achieved.

However my biggest thing about Harper, while I felt for her- being closeted is so traumatic- that I couldn’t get over is that she lied. And I know, I know. People lie that and doesn’t make them bad or a relationship unhealthy. But she lied and brought Abby into a prexisting toxic situation without telling her.

That just doesn’t sit right with me. Like Abby clearly had no idea that Sloane and Harper were constantly competing and snarling at each other. And Harper felt unsafe coming out to her parents- why bring someone into that situation when in a few short weeks you are coming out anyways. And Harper told Abby not to tell anyone she was gay- making her have to lie too.

I don’t think there fights were the problem for me. I felt like both characters acting naturally and the way any person would.

However Abby literally couldn’t leave when she wanted to because she didn’t have a ride and she was dependent on Harper because they came together. As a viewer this made me so anxious and maybe no one else felt this but I was literally so upset that Abby was no longer in this situation on her terms.

Because admittedly she did agree to come at the beginning even if at first she didn’t have all the information. I think my biggest take away from Harper telling Abby to not tell people she was gay was disregard. Harper disregarded how Abby might feel about having to lie about it and they were literally discussing that as they were walking up to the house. But also disregard for Abby, in my opinion was there from the start when Harper lied about coming out because sit took the choice away from Abby- which she makes later- about choosing to be with someone who is out.

So my boyfriend and I arrived at the venue at 2 pm, we parked and went to go find a restroom. Across the street there was a plaza so we went into the Macys that was there and used the bathroom. We left the Macys and there was an outdoor Starbucks booth on the other side, and I was like “lol what if we see one of the members there???” as a joke because I saw a guy that was in line that looked like Tobias from far away but I knew it wasn’t him. So we were walking to the Starbucks, but before we got there we passed by a dining area with a bunch of tables, most were empty so I didn’t pay much attention. So we’re walking to the stairs to go up to where the Starbucks booth is at right? And I like randomly look towards my left and who do y’all think I see sitting and talking to a crew member? None other than Mr. Beefy himself.. Mr. Aether. I grabbed my boyfriend’s arm as we continued walking and I kinda gasped, and my bf was like “wtf what’s wrong” and I'm like whisper screaming “that’s Aether!!” and he’s like “who??” and I was like “the bald guy with the earrings!!” and so we’re walking up the stairs and I'm legit having a panic attack and my bf is like “go say hi to him.” and I'm like “wtf no” and I was like “I’m gonna go sit down at a table” so my boyfriend went to the Starbucks and I came back downstairs and so I HAD to walk past Aether’s table to get to the other empty tables. And because my bf and I were wearing Ghost shirts, Aether was staring at me as I passed by his table and stupidly sat at the table next to his (because I’m a fucking idiot). So I’m like live tweeting this whole thing and a lot of my ghost twitter mutuals were telling me to say hi and I was like are y'all for serious????? and then my boyfriend came back to the table, no coffee, and was like “the line is too long” so mY DUMBASS TURNS AROUND TO LOOK AT THE LINE AND AETHER TURNS TO LOOK AT ME AND STARES AT ME THE WHOLE TIME I’M LOOKING BACK. AND I was trying to make him see that I was not looking at him so I turn back to my bf and he whispered “he kept staring at me as I walked back.” and I was silently freaking the fuck out at our table. 5 minutes later, Aether and the crew guy stand up and go back to the busses which were parked right next to the Macys entrance. So once they leave I finally catch my fucking breath. And since our seats for the concert were no where near the front Aether would not have been able to see us during the show. RIP.
