I’m assuming this is meant to be just about my own fics . . . ?

total number of completed stories: 11 (1 of which was completed in 2018 but started in 2017)

total word count: Rounding up, 88K (which was a huuuuuuge surprise)

fandoms written in: God’s Own Country, Adoby (The Halcyon), Scorbus and Drarry (Harry Potter)

looking back, did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected? I didn't really have any specific expectations, but I certainly didn't expect to write (or think I’d written) as much as I did,

what’s your own favorite story of the year? My own favourite as in written by me? Looking back I can only see flaws in my work now, really. But my favourite I suppose is Sorry

did you take any writing risks this year? I published fanfic written to a specific prompt for the first time in My Passion Tranquil - thanks again to the ever-fab @mavis-bluemoon for the prompt!

do you have any fanfic or profit goals for the new year? I’d like to write to prompts a bit more, I guess. I’d also like to have a go at text fic after reading Couldn’t Get Better They Say by @jadepresley There are also a few other fandoms I’d like to publish in.

best story of the year? I don't really know what this question means. My favourite of someone else’s fics? Because there are so, so many I just wouldn’t know where to start, and I’m scared to list them because I’ll inevitably forget some and will feel bad. All I can say is that I kudos where I feel it - so if you’ve got kudos from me it’s ‘cos I liked what you wrote!

most popular story of the year? Back (God’s Own Country)

story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Honestly? I’m stunned that anyone even bothers to read my work at all. It sounds self-pitying but it’s just true. I’ll take whatever praise I can get.

most fun story to write: Not so much an individual story, but I did enjoy writing my Tomorrow series (God’s Own Country), exploring Johnny and Gheorghe’s post-film relationship through a series of ‘vignettes’.

story with the single sexiest moment: Hmm, this is subjective, isn't it? I guess I was pretty happy with the scene from Chapter 1 of Like Love (Adoby/The Halcyon) because it’s more suggestion and need and desire than actual sex. 

sweetest story: I suppose To Keep You (Scorbus) was really fluffy?

“holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you!” story: I don’t have an answer to this. Does it mean sort of hyper-explicit sex? I try to make my smut fit the characters and the situations. If I feel uncomfortable with sex in one of my stories I change it so it rarely gets to publication point. If I don't feel the sex is saying something that needs to be said I take it out. 

story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters & most unintentionally telling story: My God’s Own Country work-in-progress Safe is an AU which has really forced me to think about which elements of Johnny and Gheorghe are intrinsic to who they are. I think moving characters into an alternative reality is a good exercise for that.  

hardest story to write: Oh God all of them. I’m a real agoniser.

biggest disappointment: I often feel I’m not improving at all. That and there are some ‘politics’ and cliques in some fandoms. That’s not a big deal, no-one has a monopoly even if they think they do, but the whole thing would be more fun if it weren't like that, I think. 

biggest surprise: Has to be my word count for the year. That genuinely surprised me when I checked it.
