Filipino-style Adobo Steak is made with tender beef steak that has been marinated in a tasty mix of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and spices. When grilled to perfection, this dish tastes salty and a little sour. It goes well with vegetables and steamed rice.
Ingredients: 1 lb beef steak such as ribeye or sirloin. 1/2 cup soy sauce. 1/4 cup vinegar. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon peppercorns. 2 bay leaves. 1 tablespoon brown sugar. 1 tablespoon oil for grilling.
Instructions: To make the marinade, put soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, peppercorns, bay leaves, and brown sugar in a bowl and mix them together. Spread the beef steak out in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over it and make sure it covers the whole steak. Marinate in the fridge for at least an hour, but preferably all night. Warm the grill up to a medium-high level. Take the steak out of the marinade and throw away the extra marinade. Use oil to coat the steak so it doesn't stick to the grill. For medium-rare, grill the steak for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side. You can change the cooking time to get the doneness you want. Take the steak off the grill when it's done the way you like it, and let it rest for a few minutes before cutting it. If you want, you can serve it hot with rice and vegetables.
