A gathering of old friends and an impromptu AD&D session that spawned from it. It was a quick & dirty session consisting of a tavern and one helluva of a bar fight.
Cast of Characters:
Brok Askew, 14th level fighter/ 5th level thief (Kent)
Urgo the Ultimate, 17th level Magic User (Tone)
Juno, Priestess of Might, 15th level Cleric (NPC)
Brok Askew sits in the Inn of The Sleeping Dog waiting for his old friends to show up. It's been many, many years since "The Slammers" had ventured forth from their homestead; castles, manors, towers etc. Brok sipped an ale, and took in the scenery. He was still surprised that The Sleeping Dog still stood; after many a bar fights and when the city was under siege by orcs and the Slammers held up in the bar fighting for every second of life.
Good Times, good times.
Brok overhears a few young lads manhandling a serving wench, he doesn't take to kindly to that and steps in. He politely asks the lads to be nice. Though when one of the fellow takes a swing at him. It's only a matter of four rounds that all four young adventures are done on the ground.
"You're getting rusty with age," Urgo says to him. "I remember when you can take down a group like that in two seconds."
The old friends embrace since it's been awhile since they last met. They sit down and order an ale and Juno arrives and greets her two friends. She relays the sad news of that Shilo Greenglenn (an elf ranger) and Bunker Tallfellow (an halfling thief-acrobat) could not make it since they are on an important matter for the Queen, Allysha of Airellen.
The Slammers sip their ale and reminisces of adventures past, though as they tell their recollection of some of the events that had happened. The lads that Brok had taken on before return with a large group, brandishing weapons. They want to teach the ol' timer a lesson in manners. Brok urges them to step down or else he wouldn't be so kind to them this time around. And before you know it the mother of all bar fights begin.
Swords clash, tables are flipped, chairs are tossed and the body count slowly rises!
The trio takes a licking and keeps on ticking. In the process a table was knocked over and a Type III demon that was trapped in a jar was unleashed and before you know it; he decides to get in a few of his friends to help him! Let's just say by the end of the session it was a bar fight to remember.
