to say that jeon jungkook's perfect would actually be an understatement,,,,,,,,,,

he's beyond that, and everyone knows it

whatever he did, he wasn't just good at it–he was the best at it

so it isn't much of a surprise to find that he swept everyone at uni off their feet bc of his charming looks and wide array of talents

but sometimes,,,,,,,,,, he gets tired of all the praise and feels even more pressured

it's like everyone's eyes are on him all the time that he can't even find himself relaxing bc he has to be perfect–he has to be who everyone expects him to be

of course you know jungkook............ the perfect jeon jungkook that everyone knew about

he was an acquaintance of yours–a friend of a friend but you rarely spoke to each other

and although you thought he was pretty handsome and gifted and attractive and brilliant and sculpted by all the gods up there themselves and that you may or may not have harbored some sort of admiration for him, you liked him not bc he was seemingly flawless

but bc he wasn’t perfect at all

you always noticed how hard it was for him to speak up with other people and how difficult it was to perfect everything he was ever good at

you would find him in the practice room, in the field, or just simply in his seat, observing people and thinking

he tried his best–he always did–and you found that effort to be endearing

maybe jeon jungkook isn't the born-perfect and always-been-this-way kind of guy that everyone thought him to be

instead, he's the type of guy who spends days and nights to get to where he is right now, and you admired him

so much that you would gaze at him with sparkles in your eyes and with a look that just speaks a thousand words all at once

well,,,,,,,,,,, jungkook doesn't really like the attention you give him

you don't say much words to him, and yet, it feels like you're telling him something every single time you're together

he notices you when you look at him and when you go out of your way to help him out when he’s struggling with the lively group of friends you both have

you would just give him a reassuring grin or save him from a conversation that was getting a little too uncomfortable

so he watches you sometimes too, when you're too way up in the clouds in the middle of the afternoon and he's stuck at the lunch table with all your mutual friends

and he doesn't really know why

but he smiles a little when you laugh at something you remembered, although it was way out of context and everyone just looks at you funny

and when you finally turn to look at him and the two of you make eye contact??????

the heat rises to his cheeks and all his worries come back to bite him

was he staring for too long??????????? was he making you uncomfortable????????? more importantly,,,,,,,, did yOU NOTICE HIM????????

his heart beats erratically and he wants to erase himself from the world for a minute just so he could save himself from his overthinking

but you give him a soft smile............... that same one that makes his heart stop then come back with twice as much energy as before

he can only turn away so you wouldn't notice the stupid grin he's holding back

"we're going ahead! are you coming?" jungkook's bright and bubbly friend, taehyung, asks as he gathers his stuff and almost everyone at your table is already up with him

you stare down at the homework you didn't do for your next class, so you sigh,,,,,,,, "i'll stay here and finish this first"

he chuckles and pats your shoulder to signal a "good luck" and "goodbye" and he's off with the crowd of people

the silence comes as a blessing to you bc you couldn’t take the obnoxious people you were sat beside,,,,,,,,,,

their conversation on how attractive the senior in your political science class–kim seokjin–is ruined your mood

his beauty is off the charts, you have to admit, but the way they compared him to jungkook was too much that you had to passive-aggressively end their conversation to defend him in whatever way you can

you shake your head, trying to get rid of the annoying feeling you got a little while ago, as you diligently work on your assignment

“[y/n], you got this!!!” you encourage yourself (bc you needed to get this right....... it was that time of the semester that you needed to save your grades before it was too late.........)

you drone on and on to keep yourself moving……………. until you hear consecutive sneezes from across you

let's just say you definitely didn't expect jungkook to be right there with his nose a little red and his eyes a little teary

"o-oh, here!" you hastily hand him your pack of tissues, which he accepts in a hurry to sneeze a little more,,,,,,, comfortably???????

you couldn't help but laugh a little......... you'd think that someone as...... muscular........ as jungkook would have a gruff and scary sneeze

but it's the exact opposite

it's cute and light,,,,, not to mention the way his nose crinkles right after just makes it even more adorable

"so cute,,,,,,,," you comment when he finally stops and both of your hands unconsciously go to either side of your cheeks to watch him

he tucks a piece of his hair behind his ear, turning away from you "what are you saying all of a sudden,,,,,,,,,,,"

you just beam, feeling a little brave today....... it's now or never, you know? "you're cute!" you say, looking back down at your paper to continue working or to just make it seem like you were cool

you're aware that in a few hours, or maybe even minutes, you would scold yourself for being so upfront, but right now, it didn't really matter,,,,,,,,,,

not when jungkook sneaks in a little "i think you are too,,,,,,,," loud enough for you to hear
